Okay Ladies.. Help me out with this!
This recently started happening where I'll do my makeup in the morning (foundation) and I use the new cover girl gorgeous. I've been using it all summer and it just started happening that about 3 hours in it looks like my face is melting off.. What can I do to fix this? I use a powder to set my foundation and I am very sparing when it comes to applying makeup..

Set spray

I do use primer! I use smashbox oil free regular primer. First I'll apply my primer before I blow dry my hair then I apply my foundation when I'm done with a makeup brush then I use my setting powder. Then I do my eyes and hair.

A setting spray will do nothing. all a setting spray does is cover your face in a gel coating to get rid of that powdery/cakey look. they don't actually add longevity or staying powder to the makeup. you want to go with a fixative spray, like the one MG mentioned.

you can also carry around blotting sheets & your powder to reapply when needed. just make sure you blot first or you'll end up looking cakey >.< hope I could help!!

I've had this happen to me before and its usually due to weather changes from summer to fall. The only way to make it better is to try a different foundation.

Lisa- that's what I've been doing but I just bought this foundation and I really like it when it works lol what type do you recommend? Last fall/winter I used the tarte Amazonian clay mineral foundation and that seemed to work but my face still gets oily by the end of the day.

I've been having the same problem and it was driving me crazy. I use primer and setting spray. I finally switched to a more high end foundation, the UD Naked Skin foundation and it's staying on a lot better for me. Though I haven't tried a lot of things so I'm sure there's probably a cheaper alternative too. It just might be you need a better foundation. I think some that work fine in colder weather just don't work in summer.

I used to use the smashbox 15 hour hydrating foundation but it's too dark for me now because I worked at a tanning salon lol I just don't wanna spend $45 on foundation again! I will look at my local drug store here to see what they have!

Maybe it's just the weather, were I live is humid as hell on some days with the seasons changing and stuff, my eyeshadows got all weird my concealer lasted about an hour and let's not even go into bronzer and blush lol even my lipstick look all weird and disgusting. And today there's not as much humidity and it looks fine

But yes is agree with these ^^ ladies try using a different setting spray

I know it sounds strange and a bit unprofessional but when I need my makeup to stay on for dance shows or competitions I always just spray a wee bit of hairspray lightly over my face to make it stay better :)x

Geeez I thought this posted earlier but it didn't... I recommend MUFE Mat Velvet or the Face and Body Foundation, Clinique Superbalanced, Estee Lauder Double Wear. I would try a different setting spray as well, like maybe Ben Nye's Setting Spray. Also what always helps me for making my eye makeup last is by dusting a setting powder right underneath my eyeliner and it makes it last a lot longer too...

I agree, try Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation. It's amazing for staying in place all day! But in the meantime, are you moisturizing? Your moisturizer may be too heavy for your skin causing your makeup not to set. Or you could be over producing oil from not moisturizing. Make sure your skincare is balancing out your skin and your foundation is for your skin type. If it's dewy finished, it is for more dry skin and if you are not dry it will not set to your skin. Hope that helps maybe a bit!

I'd switch you're moisturising lotion to a gel one helped me massively and for days when I have a long day at work the loreal infallible foundation is the best long wearing foundation drugstore wise x

Oh I didn't even think about the moisturizer like Jessica R and Jackie M mentioned; I think this Sephora one might be good along with a different foundation. They also have another similar one but an Acne Fighting and its a little bit cheaper.
