Okay ladies, I need some opinions please :) I've pretty much already decided I'm bleaching my hair tomorrow. Eventually I'm going lilac with it, but it's going to be super blonde for awhile before that. I've done my extensive research and I know what I need to do. The question I have is so you all think the blonde is going to look terrible with my skin color? Everyone has always told me to never go blonde because of my skin tone but I think I finally have the courage to do it. I just really don't want it to look like a wreck with my skin.

If it helps, I'm half Puerto Rican so while my skin can be a little pale, I have yellow undertones that make me look a little tanner. And my hair is naturally almost black.

Thanks ladies! :)

Nahhhh you'll be fine go rock bleached hair!
People go hard on undertones but they don't understand that even if you've got a primary yellow undertone, you'll have other ones that can balance things out (I'm an artist btw so I have to pay attention to colors sometimes)

Plus, there are naturally blonde, pale girls with yellow tones and they're doing fine

Thank you for the encouragement! I've always said I wouldn't ever go blonde because literally EVERYONE tells me not to. And it's comforting that this is coming from an artist :) I think I'm going to do it! Any advice?

Coming from someone who is of mixed decent, I've been blonde twice and lord knows I can't figure out my undertone cause it's all types of yellow but I can turn red and tan easily. Everyone is always telling me to go darker and to stay brown but NOPE. I'm actually in the stage of getting my hair blonde now. I say rock it. It's YOUR hair, do what you want with it. :)

Advice for bleaching? Pleaseeee for the love of god just deep condition and moisturize your hair, prior and after. I'm sure that with your research it's been covered on aftercare for your hair but it's just a reminder. Coconut oil, argan oil, and macadamia oil are alll very good for your hair. :) best of luck!

You remind me a lot of one of my friends complexion wise and she went blonde but never toned hers so it was a pee yellow colour and I've just personally never like pee yellow blonde, I prefer white silver toned blonde lol. But I actually think a cooler shade of blonde would look fine :) I'd stay away from the warmer toned blondes though.

Color wise, my advise is to find inspiration if you don't know which tone of blonde you want

I think Soo Joo Park rocks blonde hair nicely for a pale girl with warm tones yea?

People might preach about pairing warm with warm only and vice versa but its also bs to me because color theory is a lot more versatile than people think

Just go where your heart takes you and good luck!

I'm mixed with the yellowest of undertones and I love being blonde and get lots of compliments on it. I was worried it'd look too jarring if the blonde came straight out of my head, so I left some roots when I bleached. You can see how you feel about keeping it that way when you do it, since you'll have to wait to do your roots anyway to avoid getting hot roots

I say go for it! I've been half blond for a year and a half now and I get so many compliments everywhere I go. You shouldn't mind the yellow skin tone thing because I'm Asian and we're known to be yellow! lol
