For my mums wedding and the start of school, I want to get a shellac French manicure because I need extra length, something that won't chip but something that isn't very damaging to my already weak (splitting) nails (compared to gel or acrylic). My nails aren't too bad, only two of my nails have splitting at the tip, but I don't want to cut short my nails a few days before the wedding. What are your opinions (pros and cons) of shellac manicures? Would they work with my kind of nail? Thank you in advance girlies 💅💅💅

I liked shellac because it stayed on for ages, but when the lady took it off of me she basically scratched it off, which left my nails really thin and brittle. I'm not sure if that's common or she was just doing it wrong, but it's something to think about.

I get shellac done every 3 weeks to a month and it is really good, it stays on for ages and lasts with a clean look. I think it would work with your nails I used to have really short nails and they split if they grew but it worked for me so I would think it would work for you:)

For tips on removing shellac you can get acetone (the pure acetone, not nail polish remover), some cotton balls and aluminum foil. I soak the cotton ball in acetone and put it on my nail and wrap it in the aluminium foil. The you wait like 20 minutes and the shellac should just fall or chip right off!

I personally love shellac, it stays on for quite a while and it is much cleaner as said. Just don't pick at it much, it can make it chip quicker (I'm guilty of that!)
