So my skin is super dry, and I LOVE the coverage I get from the Kat Von D foundation. Only problem is, it doesn't mix well with the dryness. It tends to get all cakey and flakey.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Exfoliate!! and moisturize as much as possible, also try application techniques meant for dry skin

Have you tried the covergirl 3 in 1. I typically have the same problem with foundation. But the covergirl has never caked up on me!

Ok first I need the baby in your profile pic. I would use Revlon stick foundation its full coverage and never cakes on me. its at drugstores. (and I still want that baby! :)??)

Thanks for the tips!
Lindsay, I actually heard the 3 in 1 is super good.
And Ursa! That's my baby boy, Huxley :) he's 2 months old. I've never seen the revlon stick foundation but I'll check it out!!

Personally the 3 in 1 was to cakey but I do really like the maybelline dream mousse foundation! its medium to full coverage, not cakey and doesn't cling to dry patches(:

3 in 1 has a matte finish, you don't want that with dry skin. I hands down recommend Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour foundation. I have dry skin with a bunch of dry texture patches and it does not accentuate them. The foundation actually helps to make them look natural. And I only set my t-zone with a translucent powder. It looks good all day long :)

I have combo skin and the Kat Von D foundation didn't work well on me either. I love my Revlon Colorstay, it's pure magic✨ they make one for oily skin as well. Like Suzy said, make sure you exfoliate😉

I use KVD's and I agree, on really dry patchy days it can look cakey. I only use it in the summer when my skin is less dry. In the winter when my skin is super dry I love tartes Amazonian clay. It takes a bit to get used too since it's really thick but it feels so nice and looks so smooth :)

I am following this thread too, because I am in the market for a decent foundation and my skin is drier than the Mojave.

I wish I could try these suggestions, but they're all too dark or the wrong undertone. :( The joys of being neutral toned and pasty white...

I loved the Maybelline Dream Smooth mousse foundation, but it was just too pink for me. If you are cool toned, check that one out for sure!
