Anyone tried Essie nail polish? It's $7.25 at my local store and that seems a bit outrageous for a small bottle and a girl that rarely paints her nails. So, is it worth it?
I have a few Essie polishes and they aren't my favorite. I find the formula to be pretty thin and I have to use quite a few coats to avoid visible brush strokes. The colors are gorgeous though, which is how they keep roping me in. I think there are better options out there for less money. You can find Essie on Amazon for a lot less, so if you don't mind waiting for it to come in the mail, I'd say that's a less expensive choice so you can see if the formula is one that you like.
I think most are. The one color i'd tell you to avoid is shifting power. It's very thin and streaky and can get frusterating ( i dont even know how to spell that word ) (: I really like Sew Pysched though
Though essie is really good nail polish. It is not worth the 8 bucks unless you can find it on sale. Essie is another one of those hyped products. You can purchase any dollar nail polish and as long as you apply a base coat and a top coat of seche vite or equal quality top coat you will have just as nice of a manicure as you would have got with essie.
absolutely worth it!! anytime i paint my nails with essie it doesn't chip for like 5 days...which is amazing considering I'm a barista and constantly using my hands

I really like their top coats, the glitter ones are very nice, but the regular polish I have from them is meh.

$15? That's crazy, haha I'm not sure, I've been hearing from friends that its streaky, too. I do agree the colors are gorgeous. I might order a couple and try them out. Thanks everyone!
Honestly, no. Essie is a very thin formula that requires at least three coats of polish to avoid brush strokes and the color almost never turns out with a shine, it's always a dry look. I'd go with OPI for the extra dollar or so. I've never had a problem with OPI and they have the best shades, to be honest.

It's more popular then it should be. Although they're pretty good, they are very thin, streaky, and take many coats. If you ask me, it's not worth $8.
