Brands or products that don't clog pores!
What are some that you like it swear by? I find that my skin has been super sensitive to anything I've been putting on it. Is mineral makeup a good option to avoid breakouts from clogged pores?

Mineral makeup is a safe choice. I prefer Swear by Laura Mercier but have also tried Cover fx and their both good products, but since their mineral it does not afford that much staying power. For liquid foundation I like hourglass Oil-free, a little bit on the pricey side but I don't break out with them. Plus hourglass have background on dermatology. I think if you stick with oil-free or mineral you should be good.

I read this article recently that was quite interesting. http://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/myths/_/six-meaningless-cosmetics-claims-you-shouldnt-believe

One thing it mentions is products that are described as "non-comedogenic":
Non-comedogenic or "Won't clog pores"

Why it's meaningless: You can't trust any product that makes claims of being non-comedogenic (or the less common "non-acnegenic") because there are no approved or regulated standards for these statements anywhere in the world. In other words, no matter what a product contains, a company can claim that it won't make you break out, even if it contains ingredients that are known to trigger breakouts. With no guidelines or standards in place, even the thickest, greasiest moisturizer around can claim it "won't clog pores."

And forget the claim "oil-free"! There are lots of ingredients that can make skin feel greasy that aren't listed as oils.

It also gives some advise on what you should look for. Check it out, you might find it useful.

I would say if you tend towards breakouts, stay away from mineral makeup! They say that it's good for your skin, but if you have sensitive skin it can break you out something fierce. My skin tends towards acne and when I started using a mineral bronzer it went totally nuts! Not fun. I'd say don't spring for a full size if you can't help it, try it out for a week and see how your skin responds. Everyone's skin is different and reacts differently to products.

I was about to post the article Amy E. posted! However as someone with acne-prone skin my 2 cents is that as much as it sucks trial and error has been the only thing that works for me. Hang on to your receipts and watch your skin. Good luck!

I've tried all kinds of foundation, and nothing doesn't break me out except Dinair's airbrush makeup. Great for oily skin, is non-comedogenic. As another lady said, don't believe the claims the makeup says that it won't break you out. The makeup industry is loosely regulated, and so they can almost get away with saying anything. I've had to learn the hard way.

The best way to try to avoid comedogenic makeup is to try to memorize the ingredients that are the most comedogenic. Avoid silicon also, and sodium chloride. Also, this list helps,

but there are other ones one online too. I have the list on my phone, so anytime I am looking at products, I have a guide to help me avoid certain lines. MAC is the worst. And ones that claim to be 'all-natural' aren't necessarily better either. :)

Oh Alice H., you make a great point about sensitivity to minerals! The only mineral makeup that does not irritate me in the form of red bumps and itchiness is Healthy Minerals/Everyday Minerals base. And they send samples so you can really match your skin AND, it's all natural, made in Texas. Even with their super line, I can't use their finishing powder, just the "base", foundation powder.

I've been using Revlon Color Stay concealer with acne stuff which is in a tube with a doe foot applicator all over like a foundation and it covers well, doesn't look cakey, and doesn't break me out. I top it with NYX twin cake powder.
