Smiley Piercing Questions?

Hey ladies! I've been wanting this piercing for a while, and am thinking of asking for it as a Christmas or birthday present. But I have a few questions.
•How easy is it to care for?
•Did you have any problems with yours?
•Are there any concerns or anything for getting them?
•What is your personal opinion on them?
That should be it! You could also say if it hurt or not, but I know everyone has different pain tolerances so it might feel like a piece of cake to someone and absolutely horrible to the next. Thanks ladies!

I can respect your opinion! I used to feel the same way, but they've really grown on me. (:

That's really helpful Harlyn! I'll be sure to check it out. Thank you!
And Renay, I know they're so cute! This picture made me fall in love with them.

Oooh, thank you Harlyn and Jacqlyn! I agree completely on not using a gun; one of the places I was considering for my nose, which I got done last spring, used a gun and tried to reassure me it was completely safe. They also tried to tell me that it wasn't safe to sterilize jewelry because it burnt the skin you got pierced. Needless to say, I went somewhere else.

Oh my gosh, that's a nightmare Harlyn.
Lala; I'm kinda worried about the pain but they're so cute! My nose was much less painful than I expected, so maybe the smiley will be too, haha. (:

Harlyn, you're so informed! I wouldn't have thought of half the stuff you're telling me. I really appreciate it.

I have mine done, I got it done a few years ago and even though I don't wear it in and haven't for a year or so, oddly enough I can still get a bar in when I do want to show it. I found it quite easy to look after, I would use either a salt saline solution to clean it (rinse mouth) twice a day. If I couldn't do that, I'd use non alcoholic mouth wash to clean it also.

I didn't have any problems with mine, at first depending on what bar they put in to begin with (it's recommended it's a curved bar) before you can get a horseshoe bar in there to avoid it from rejecting at all while it's healing. The only thing that bothered me was the curved barbell when you first get it; just because when it's swollen (and it does flare up depending on certain foods when I have it in, spicy foods in particular) the balls on the piercing will dig into your gums a little, it's not unbearable but it's uncomfortable until the swelling goes away. I personally like them though need to purchase a new curved bar for it :)

Thanks again Harlyn!
Shaye; Thank you! I've heard that they're not a permanent piercing, and that they wear away that little web of skin overtime; have you found that happening with yours? Thanks again for the help. (:

Thank you! That's the kind of packaging my nose piercing's needle and stuff was in, so that's comforting. (: I really appreciate all the help!

No I haven't, my piercers were quite surprised when I was getting it cause I actually have "double webbing" there, which just means mine is a little thicker, not sure if that contributed to mine staying put but mine is still in the same place it was on day one :) as long as you don't fiddle with it when it's healing it should have a good chance to heal :)
