Does anyone know the difference between Acrylic and Gel manicures?!? How does the gel compare to shellac? I have been wearing acrylics semi consistently for the past 3 years, and I want to switch it up for a more natural look, but my real nails are thin and brittle. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks:)

If I were you I would stop wearing acrylics! They are horrible for your nails! That's the reason your nails are so soft and brittle! You need to let your nails breath! Give them some time to recover on their own and then put the "Sally Hansen Miracle Nailgrowth treatment" on your nails and they will start to recover from the acrylic!

I have seen lots of peoples nails after wearing acrylic extentions. They are so brittle and weak this can occur with not taking care of your nails aswell. I currently apply shellac as a beauty treatment. I did lots of research - and in the end chose shellac to add to my treatment list and I love it. My mom wore silk extentions for 11 years.. bearly any damaged to her nails but she is now hooked on shellac.

Look for CND Shellac only!!! This is the only
" gel polish" that doesn't want you to file or buff on the natural before applying or after to remove. Do your research when looking for a nail tech. Go to CND.com and look for the "find a salon". Enter in the info that you are looking for and a list of nails techs will show up. Look to the right of the page and you will see if they are certified in Shellac. For instance you'll see that I'm verified in Shelllac, Brisa (gel) and acrylics. Making me a grand master. Good luck!
