Hello Beautylistas, here is some quick information for those who may get confused with what a smokey eye is and what a gradient style is.A Smokey eye can be any dark color faded to light,(Think of the steps of Fire to Smoke) Now it's dark fade to light as I have mentioned before also smoke bottom lash line.Their is No light Smokey eye,or Natural Smokey eye and there is No outer V ( Don't get the words Smokey eye confused with Smoke out Term it's two different things).which brings me to the Gradient style that has the V and many colors added to the look, all blended well to the transition with flow.If you notice for example WET N Wild has the 3 step eye shadow kits that is for the Gradient style or for what ever you choose but that usually helps you layer it all for that type of finish.Corner to Corner in a Horizontal slope is the lay out of the Gradient style and technique. Here are some picture's that will help you tell the difference in style.Hope this helps you all :) Stay Beautiful! First pic is a Smokey eye.

Love the gradient eye! I think I'm going to attempt this for my eye makeup at the valentines day dance. Now if I could only decide on what colors to use. (:

Jackie, I think the only thing that could create a natural smokey eye would be a 'black eye', as in a punch in the face lol.

One if the things I have to explain the most when I ask my clients what look they are after. They all say a smokey eye but when I show them a true smokey eye (I have a photo book I take with me at all times) all I get is ooh no that's a bit much. Then what I realise is they want a gradient style...
