Just want everyone to know that The Makeup Show-Orlando was AWESOME! Superb*tch Storm Sandy didn't get anyone down. I didn't take any pics at the show because my hands were full of goodies. There were a few booths that weren't able to get their stock or displays but they made the best of it and offered free shipping and other discounts. Specifically, The Powder Group, I had a really great experience with the gal I chatted with. I should have spoken with her longer, either way the 3 year membership deal they offered was fantastic. Well worth the $ especially since I have just relocated. Of course I can't remember her name(there were 2 gals working a tall one & a short one, she was the short one), but she was really informative without fluff and she was very sincere.

I booked a workshop with Johnny Lavoy Basic Editorial Hair Styling for Makeup Artists. It was enlightening as I have ZERO hair experience, I can "do" hair but never professionally. He gave the basics on what you need to start and then all the specialty items. The man does amazing things with a flat iron. He did 3 updos in less than 30 minutes, on the same girl(a girl attending the workshop none-the-less)! WTF?! BUT they weren't difficult at all...I KNOW that I can recreate them.

The Peabody Hotel was a nice setting. It's HUGE, but lovely to walk around. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I stayed at the Hyatt Place, I'd stay again for the $ it was a huge room especially if you're splitting it with other people. There's a sectional couch so you can easily sleep 3 probably even 4, $100. Worth it, super clean, enormous free breakfast (am i writing a yelp review, lol), OH 24 hour room service, and it was very reasonable for room service. (3 sandwiches, 2 beers $34)

Here's one pic I had someone take :-) I will definitely go next year. Obviously, the amount of products there that you will want to buy is insane so bring a big wallet if you tend to be impulsive. I went with the intention of buying an airbrush system and I had a list of the things I wanted to specifically look at, kept my impulse buying to lashes 7 for $10! I bought some gel eyeliners from inglot, some duraline, some pigment, some glitter I resisted the urge to buy a freedom system...resisted the MUFE, OCC....ya know it was a challenge.

How was everyone else's experience?
