I went to Mac yesterday to pick up a replacement pro-longwear concealer (my favorite) and a lipglass in the color good times. When I walked into the store I immediately walked over to an employee to match my concealer shade since I had gotten a tan. None of the employees paid any attention to me. I asked politely numerous times and I got either "I'm busy", "pick out your own". They just ignored me, or walked to the back. I felt very offended that I just needed a simple task done and they weren't willing to help me. I understand that if the store is busy (which it wasn't) that I would have to wait a little bit to be helped. I waited for 35 minutes and finally got an employees' attention. She picked up a shade and asked me where I wanted it swatched. I told her my jaw line since I want my concealer to match perfectly. I also have acne scarring on my jaw line that I want covered up. She replied with, "this is a concealer.. Not all over." I don't see why she should care. Anyway, she tested it on my jawline and then told me, "ok what else do you need?" With a sassy tone. At this point, I was considering not getting anything because of my experience but I needed the concealer and I had been dying to get the lipglass. I asked for the lipglass in good times and she got the wrong one. I told her again that I wanted it in the shade good times and finally she got it for me with a roll of her eyes. After that, I checked out and got the heck out of there. I'm considering going to another Mac counter or not going to one at all. This wasn't my first bad experience either. I feel that some Mac employees discriminate against ages and races. Have y'all had any bad experiences? What are y'all's opinions?

I was thinking of doing that Salma but I just wanted to get out of there as soon as I could!! Haha such a shame though because I have invested so much money in Mac makeup and I really love their products! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Every time I go in Mac try treat me badly. Either they don't pay attention to me or are just rude and dumb. Once a girl said all of their lipsticks were $16 and so I picked one out and paid with a card so she didn't tell me how much it was. When I got my receipt back, I had paid almost $30. I came back and replaced it and she acted like it was my fault but I mean I guess I should've looked at the price before I left the store. Still, they should spend more time with their customers to make sure they are pleased with they makeup.

I've had a similar experience with them! & I agree with Sabera I talked to the manager & they gave me a gift card as an apology lol that's not ethical they should have not treated you like that that's their job :o!

I've had bad experiences at MAC, too. Lol. They're pretty snobby... I'm surprised the posts I've seen on here, you guys don't do anything about it... Maybe it's just my short temper, but I always tell the employee off if they get sassy with me. Lol. They don't deserve their job if there's a specific reason they're treating you like so, like get over yourself and don't work in retail/costumer service if you can't do your job right lol. I'd file a complaint on her.

I feel that since I'm in my teens they think I'm not going to buy anything so they don't even take their time helping me! If I wasn't going to buy anything why would I ask them to match my concealer shade?!? Obviously I want the concealer lol.

Mac is notorious for very poor customer service. If you don't "look" like someone worth their time, they won't give it to you. It's quite sad. A paying customer is a paying customer.

I completely agree savanna!

Call the store and complain to the manager tho, I would. I dislike chicks like that

Sometimes if you complain enough (in a mature and professional manner) you could get a coupon or just a satisfactory apology lol.

That is so rude and unprofessional! I've never been to a MAC counter, but I get similar service in Topshop. I get glared at by the people who work in there and they always huddle in groups and look and whisper about me. I actually heard one of them go "look at that girl in the red boots (me) what the hell is she wearing!?'. Just because I don't dress like every other girl in my town, doesn't mean that I can be rudely spoken about. At the end of the day, I'm a paying customer and I should get the customer service I deserve. It's disgusting.

Mac has a real problem with rude employees. like a lot of the girls there think omg I work here so I'm better than you. news flash...you make minimum wage and you're wearing ten pounds of makeup right now. ya know? they really have no reason to be stuck up for sure. but I will say, yesterday I mustered up the courage to go to get some things at Mac and the girl was SO nice and easy going. I was really happy to have been helped by her. sorry you had to be treated that way. next time for sure say something!

I would call the manager and complain. No one deserves to be treated like scum!!

I don't know where you are in the world, but the mac counter in the trafford centre in the the uk is notorious for being rude, when I first went in, they asked if I'd used the products before, I said no, and all smiles, rainbows and bloody unicorns came out of the woodwork and I had the most amazing experience, and ended up buying a primer, foundation and concelear, and THEN my second time I went in I had a very similar experience to you, I was looking for a lipstick to go with my prom dress which was black, as I had just been to urban decay and gained an eyeshadow pallette, and I had the best time with the lady there and she was so helpful, I thought it would be the same there. NO. how wrong I was, I got treated like utter shite, and its put me off going in despite how much I love their products, I was ignored and told to wait for non-existent employees. They need to buck their ideas up, there clearly getting a bad reputation.  x

Well not that I ever planned on going to mac anytime in the near future but I don't think I will EVER go to a mac store now lol.

I have found a few girls at my local Mac counter that I absolutely love! They are so helpful and one has the same skin tone as me so she always tells me her new favorites and puts them on me. (:

Of course, I always spend more money with her though.

The first time I ever went to MAC a few years ago I was looking for a concealer. So I waited 10mins for someone to help and them when I asked to color match she squirted it out for me on a card and said "do it yourself". And then after she came back proceeded to tell me in did it wrong and then globbed it under my eyes. She was extremely rude I'm even the purchasing process. I'm surprised I ever went back.

I usually go to Mac with a friend (who is slightly more outgoing than myself), and no matter how friendly I try to be, the employees *always* ignore me, but have a full out conversation with my friend. Not just about makeup, but about a lot of things.
Last week, we went in and both asked for a sample of strobe cream, and the lady happily put one in my friend's bag, but not mine. So yeah. I feel ya.

I've been in that situation as well Lauren. Someone giving you cold shower while they engage in conversation with someone you're with bc you're not as "open" or "bubbly". Lol so I feel you. I don't even understand why most employees at places like such are so snobby. They need to get real lmao.
