I have used coconut oil a million times I can't say I have experienced any miracle from it but it makes my hair feel softer if I leave it on overnight. My split ends will still be there any my hair won't grow any faster though.

First of all, nothing you can apply will put split ends back together. Second of all, coconut oil doesn't moisturize your hair on its own, so I'd recommend applying a tad after you shower to keep the moisture in your hair. It won't help your hair grow, but it will help it stay healthy. I still recommend trimming your split ends.

as for your skin and nails, it's good for both of those, either ingested or applied topically; but it can be greasy, and it's only worth it if you've already moisturized, because it will seal in the moisture as opposed to providing its own. hope this helps a bit!

Took the words right outta my mouth Hannah. Makes for a great hair sealant after applying your leave in conditioner and makes for a great skin soother if skin is stressed from irritation as it contains natural anti-bacterial properties.

Honestly I've never tried it for my hair because I have very oily hair to begin with but it does make your hair super shiny and healthy looking and it locks in moisture. I prefer using it as a body moisturizer. I know everyone says it doesn't moisturize and it just creates a barrier to lock in moisture but my skin loves it, I don't even have to use a moisturizer. I apply coconut oil on my body twice a day. It has dramatically helped heal my eczema and I also have dermatitis on my legs which has given me a huge amount of scars which I haven't been able to get rid of for years. After about 1-2 months of using coconut oil all my scars are almost gone and my skin is never itchy! This is my holy grail product.

My hair had stopped growing and after applying coconut oil once a week as well as my usual deep conditioner it has grown a lot. Thats maybe because the ends are so much more healthy and don't break off? I don't know but it definitely worked for me! :)

I use it as a sealant on my hair in the winter as Well as on my face. all year I use it on my skin after I shower to lock in the moisture. be careful when applying it to your hair since it can be greasy. I just rub my fingers on it so it gets a slight film on them then work it into my ends. split ends need to be cut But the oil will help your hair from loosing moisture, which causes split ends.

Just want to add that coconut oil is listed as a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 so it is highly comedogenic. That doesn't mean you will for sure break out, but it has a higher possibility for it to clog tot pores and yes cause breakouts. I tried using it for a couple of months and I had never broken out so bad in my life (no joke). As soon as I got it all out of my house it went right away. Just keep this in mind if your acne probed doll.

I use coconut oil very often for my hair(as a mask on wet hair, I wrap it with warm towel and hold at leats 1hour or go to sleep),nails and body skin. I just wanted to mention that it's very important to buy unrefined coconut oil! it means its natural and free of chemicals. It has solid or creamy consistency at room temperature, and really weak smell...because it doesn't contain any fragrances :) I just noticed so many refined oils on markets..these doesn't help much, refined oils work just as any fat but we also want every goods and vitamines from coconut oil ;) so keep that in mind and read the ingredients of product you are buying.

I found this on internet about clogging pores :

Here are a couple of solutions if you are concerned that it might clog your pores:

Mix it with a less comodegenic oil (a carrier oil) to make a less risky moisturizer.
Exfoliate first. This is key, as it gets rid of the build-up in pores that any oil could potentially block in the first place.

3.Use it not as a moisturizer at all but as a cleanser! This can be done with coconut oil alone, or mixed with carrier oils as above. Simply apply and massage into the face for several minutes, then remove then a clean washcloth and warm water. This is related to the Oil Cleansing Method, which is based on the reasoning that oil attracts oil and is therefore best for cleaning the pores of facial skin.
