I'm not documenting mine, but here's my main rules:
1. Do not over eat after exercising. Your body is going to feel like it needs to replenish its energy, but you need to make it draw that energy from its existing reserves.
2. One meal a day should be straight up produce, preferably fresh.
3. Try to walk instead of driving somewhere daily.
4. Cut out any processed foods.
5. Drink lots of water and get enough sleep.

hi there! I use a similar iphone app to My Fitness Pal called Lose It. It's free and it helps you log in your exercise, food, etc. I recommend doing a food tracking app and log everything you do and at first just seeing what you take in. You may be surprised. I also cannot stress the importance for women to lift weight, and I mean heavier weight than you might expect. Muscle burns fat. All the Zumba classes, treadmills and elliptical machines will give you great cardio but rarely do they result in true weight loss. Additionally, you want to have a well-balanced diet, meaning lots of protein, low sugar, etc. you should be eating 1 gram of protein per pound of weight, example: if you are 130 lbs, you should be eating almost 130 grams of protein a day. It's a lot but you can learn the right foods to eat that will get you there. Check labels too on everything you eat. Rarely are the Lean Cuisines, 100 calorie packs good for you. You may see that something has 100 calories but 12 grams of sugar. If you can, stay under 4-6 grams of sugar per serving. Just send me a message. Sorry to exhaust with info, but one other thing to keep in mind, complex carbs: pastas, breads, grains, potatoes. they are complex because they make you feel full but are harder to break down so have them earlier in the day. I try not to have anymore carbs after 2pm and just eat protein and vegetables after that. And remember, just because food is healthy doesn't mean it can't be delicious. Feel free to message me, if you need or want more info. I'm a huge advocate to encourage women to be smart about healthy lifestyles and can't stress enough about weight lifting. It's not a quick process and think in terms of being healthy and strong, not necessarily numbers on a scale or in clothes.

My diet is about to drastically change. I have been having digestive problems for about 8 years now and I am being tested for ulcerative colitis, crones disease, and other digestive diseases. I am also going to be trying to eat healthier because most of the diet I am on is going to be plain and high in carbohydrates. :( I have cut out lactose because it also upsets my stomach and sometimes that helps weight loss. I really could use some help with this to be 100% honest. I am a small person and my entire family is small but we are somewhat unhealthy eaters.

My blog has some health related posts! Check it out.

I plan to document (in small bits) in my youtube videos also.

Also, if anyone has a twitter I would love to tweet back and fourth about this topic!

I also need to set some weight loss goal. Very difficult with 3 kids and all the things they eat lol. I have to be stronger about it.

Wow Im so late on reading these sorry!
@Christina, those are amazingly helpful information! There is so much I still have to learn about the RIGHT way to eat!
@Abigail, so sorry to hear about the health problems! I had to have my gallbladder removed last year so I know what it feels like to feel like something is wrong but you dont know what. It took many months of pain and discomfort for them to finally diagnose me.I'll def be checking out your blog! Good luck with everything.
@Theresa, being strong is the hardest part! lol I have no kids and its already so hard for me I cant imagine with kids! Im so weak when it comes to seeing people eat all the good stuff while I have a salad, but I know it will pay off in the end so im going to be doing my best. But I am always in need of constant motivation.
@ jennifer, dont listen to all the haters. U know what is best for your body. I was worried and honestly ashamed of putting it out there in the open but i know for every hater or person reading my posts for the wrong reason, there will b that one person who it really helped..u know? Lets see what happens with my posts lol Iv been putting it off for a while but I finally got around to weighing myself and make a post.

Check out my first weigh in. I cant believe I let myself get this way! Thx for all the comments guys! Keep the tips and motivation coming! This chubby girl appreciates it! lol

I am all about eating right, but going on a "diet" is just temporary. I've lost 100lbs and I can tell you, you have to do something that you will be able to do for the rest of your life. Fad diets do not work.

Working out will speed up the process. Like they say, losing weight is 80% of what you eat. The other 20% happens with exercise. Find something you actually enjoy doing. Hiking is a great workout because once you get there, you want to continue and you are less likely to quit.

Try to eat small meals 3-4 hours. Try to stay away from carbs after 6pm.

What helped me lose weight was making little changes at a time. I never did anything drastic. First it was cutting out soda of all kinds. If I want the bubbles I drink sparking water. Then it was cutting out fast food. There are healthy alternatives to eating out. My absolute obsession is this amazing place in Los Angeles called Freshii. They have amazing bowls and wraps that will not kill your progress.

TV is a great motivator for me. I love watching the Biggest Loser, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Addition and pretty much anything that embraces the journey. It will remind you were you were and where you can go.

Also, make sure to have a cheat day. You are not doing yourself a favor by depriving yourself all of the time. It will make you go on a crazy binge. Once that happens, it can be very difficult to get back to your program.

Congrats ladies!! So many inspiring stories to read. Reading usmagazine.com is one of my guilty pleasures. this morning there was a section on celeb weight loss and it was a bunch of before and after photos. Well it disgusted me! One photo was like 'here's carrie underwood' when she was a size 6, now she's a 2!' the media has got to stop labeling with these meaningless numbers. Since when is a size 6 considered unhealthy!

I agree with you Christina G. 100%. I'm a size 4/6. I have no desire to be a size 2. Why can we not embrace our own amazing bodies for what they are. Why does the media make us feel as if we should be ashamed if every bone in our body doesn't show. A healthy weight has a lot to do with frame, ethnicity, height and age. A size 6 looks completely different on a woman who is 5'1" and a woman who is 5'9". Ladies do not beat yourself up over not fitting into the size the magazines tell you is best. YOU are what's best.
