I have tried it. I also LOVE it. My skin seems so much softer. I have not been using it for long. I hope that over time I will see an improvement in my complexion :-)
I use black soap as well! But I use a soap bar from One Hand Washes the Other. Their Black Magic Soap made a huge difference in my skin's complexion and helped a lot in reducing my breakouts and if I did break out, getting rid of any spots as quick as possible.
I've been battling acne problems for about 6 years and I am so glad I discovered African Black Soap a couple years ago! It works wonders for my sensitive/combination skin. My acne isn't completely gone; I still break out every now and then, but this soap has reduced my breakouts tremendously! It leaves my face really clean and taut. Another thing I love is that it brightens my complexion, giving me a youthful glow! I highly recommend it to those with eczema and acne-prone skin, like me!
I think I need to purchase some, NOTHING i use seems to help my skin im 24 with teenage skin, so annoying. Does anyone know where I could get some in the UK?
I just read your blog posts and purchased my bar. You know they have a liquid form right, just in case you havent seen it yet. Thanks so much, I hope it battles this skin of mine!!!
Haven't tried it but I keep hearing amazing things about it. Think I'll grab some when I run out of my "Purity" by Philosophy. Probably less expensive, I'm sure.
i have been using black soap for about 3 weeks now and i, and everyone around me, have noticed a huge change in my extremely sensitive, acne prone skin. i got mine at an african market that i found in NYC, its no name as is most of the products they sell because it is all made in ghana and flown in to sell at markets. it was $2 for a lb of solid soap which is a hell of a deal compared to coastal scents lb of soap for $13.
it hasnt completly cleared up my face but it definitly has cleared about 80% of acne. i love this soap so much that i have thrown out all other products (proactiv, neutrogena, olay, noxema, clinique, etc). i have also noticed that my old acne marks have lightened and i use less makeup than i used to in order to cover acne marks.
black soap is the only soap i use now twice a day in combination with clinique dramatically different gel. my skin hasnt looked this good since i was in hs and i def recommend this soap to anyone who is dealing with acne and is frustrated with spending so much money on products that never work.
i cant say enough about this soap, i just love love love it. i am 28 and have never had acne until my 20s and i was so stressed out trying to find a regimen that worked for me. i have spent so much money on products and im amazed at how a $2 soap has been the only thing to work for me. granted your skin dries out the first week but that is the worst of it.
i cant wait to see what my skin looks like in another 3 weeks
It does help with acne scars. It fades them dramatically.
I've been using this for a few weeks and it hasn't completely faded them but they are lighter. My skin is olive and acne would leave purple marks which is have to cover everyday. I swear now I only use bobbi brown concealer under my eyes (black soap doesn't work for under eye circles. Wish it did) and I use MAC studio fix powder and that's it.
I've used this before, I remember buying a pound of it from some African's stall at a market, just like one of the above poster's mentioned--there was no brand name, it was just wrapped up. All I remember about African Black Soap was that I actually NOTICED the change (softer, brighter and clearer skin) and I remember the smell was sooo nice!! ..the only thing I don't remember is where exactly I picked it up..lol
I've been using African Black Soap for years and like it. It wasn't the miracle products I was hoping it would be as far as clearing up acne. I don't see myself using anything else. I get mine at sheabutterhut.com
