i have heard lots of tips with vaseline n not just for your lips, alot of people have said it is good for dry skin

I just looked at my Vaseline and it doesn't say anything about being noncomedogenic (or however you spell that word haha), so I would think that yes it would clog your pores. Either way, I wouldn't go slathering that stuff all over my face, just think about how thick it is and how shiny your face would be. I think it would be good to use on small dry patches on other parts of your body, but not for your face in place of a moisturizer.

I like to use it as an eyemakeup remover. :)

It's different for a lot of people. Basically, vaseline is like a solidified grease. I don't use it on my face a lot because it gives my skin a weird texture and I feel like it does clog my pore a little. However, I always use it if I ever get eczema on my cheeks. Usually it only takes one night for it go away but sometimes it takes two. It's a miracle worker. I know my friend uses it on her face every night and she has flawless skin. You have to figure out how sensitive your skin is. Also, if you do use it, only use it at night. If you try to use it in the morning, I guarantee that no makeup has any chance of staying on your face.

one of vaselines main ingredients is mineral oil. Mineral oil is basically a biproduct of gasoline. It doesn't absorb easily, which is part of the reason that it traps moisture in and makes your skin feel hydrated. But it also does not allow the release of toxins because it is so thick, therefore it can clog the pores.
This is what is said through studies about why mineral oil is bad for you....but who really knows, I'm sure you could find studies that say otherwise

I think it depends on your skin. I've seen people that have used it for years and their skin looks amazing, but whether it's due to the petroleum jelly, genetics or a blend of both - who can say?

It doesn't work for me, but clearly it does for others. Skin care is so specific, it really does come down to trial & error. I've used 'natural oils' that claim not to clog/block pores only to find out that my pores did. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad product, just means it's not for me.

I know a lot of people that have been using it for years on their face and they actually do not break out at all, I guess it just depends on your skin type. I use it everyday on my eye lids to remove my eyeshadow

I use vaseline for everything! I'm prone to eczema on my eyelids (as well as my hands and elbows) and I use vaseline at least once a day on my eyelids (though I've heard there are no/very few pores on the lids) and I've never had a problem using it on my face (occasionally, on dry patches)

I guess my advice would be to try it and see how your skin reacts, everyone is different :)

I use vaseline under my eyes at night. It helps me with bags and dark circles. I also use it to prevent wrinkles. I learned this trick years ago from my mom and dad. My dad passed away at 56 but he still looked like he was in his 30's. So just like Kelsea stated before, it is different for everyone.

I use vaseline on my face (in the winter), just a very thin layer at night when needed. In the morning my skin is amazing and it seems to even out my skin tone as well. My husband puts it on his new tattoos to stop the itching.

Also, people often think its got mositurising properties. It has no such thing. It's a by product of the distillation of gasoline. Not something I fancy putting on my body personally! xxxxx

Mineral oil is not inherently moisturizing, it is used as a barrier that simply prevents moisture from escaping from the skin.

This is an ongoing debate that I think requires each person to do their own research. Some say it's fine, others will rage against it. Again, I say your skin will dictate what works for you. Please don't believe the hype on either side - everyone has an agenda.

Vaseline is is used by mom and I use it as well. My mom has the most beautiful skin and not 1 wrinkle. I use it overnight to prevent wrinkles and add moisture. Just like anything, you want to keep it moist. I will use the analogy of skin being like rubber. If rubber is not properly lubricated it will dry out and crack. Vaseline is a great natural product that is inexpensive and keep all parts of your skin moist. All skin types are different and Vaseline is typically 100% petroleum. It can't hurt to try it! If you do not want to try it on your face, just try it will some moisturizing gloves on your hands (or socks- LOL) overnight and I guarantee that you will notice a difference. i have always used it to take off eye makeup. I've purchased bottles of eye makeup remover before but nothing does the trick like a tad bit of vaseline under my eyes and then wipe it completely clean with a tissue. I think I may try a thin layer where I'm starting to notice a few wrinkles before I go to bed this evening. I'm not sold on it as a moisturizer, but I'll try anything twice!

I've heard it's not good to use as a moisturizer because it clogs pores and doesn't let your skin breathe but it's an awesome eye makeup remover and I used to use it on my feet overnight to soften them. Alba makes an un-petroleum jelly that Kandee Johnson swears by and it's safe to use on your face :)

It'll make it seem better but not heal it. I used it and baby oil for years luckily my Dr told me about cetaphil lotion for my dry sensitive skin. For the first time In 14 years I don't even own baseline.
