I recently started with Julep and have several codes with my referral link I can send to someone if you are interested...they range from free boxes with $2.99 shipping, to a free beach type tote bag valued at $25 with $40 purchase, to a $15 off code...let me know. I think their nail polish is a little pricey at $15 ea member price but they have unique colors and you can get beauty items too. Right now they have a couple of different options and you can cancel after your 1st box if you sign up for monthly and only be out $2.99 if you hurry.

Both Ipsy and Beauty Army have mentioned. :D Both are very popular - love the folks at both companies - BUT I always tell people similar in concept VERY different products at times.

BTW - The Look Bag shut down for a second and hopefully final time. Between buying from 3rd party vendors to sending expired products out to having issues with credit cards compromises lets hope they stay shut down this time again.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but there is also
Ipsy http://www.ipsy.com/ $10 monthly
Beauty Army https://beautyarmy.com/ $12 monthly

The merchandise from Ipsy comes in a cute make up reusable bag and the merchandise from Beauty Army comes in a cute reusable pink box. Hopes this helps.

Contact the WA state Attorney General's office and file a complaint. Because she's in the state of WA you can also file a complaint with the Dept of Revenue and the Dept of Business.

Makeup Monthly is a scam! I'm currently disputing with my cc company now and its a nightmare. I'll never try another monthly subscription again. Whoever that Kesha chic is, is a fraud. Got charged for 2 months and didn't receive a thing. Learned my lesson.

I really like Birchbox but I really use the points system. I review each product and then save up my points for something I really want. If you don't like what you are getting tweak your profile.

i commented on this back in jaunary after my 1st beauty army kit & am happy to say i'll be receiving my 5th probably next week. this is the only subscription beauty box i've been subscribed to & i have yet to be disappointed. i think i like the fact that you get to pick your samples most of all (i even tweek my beauty profile a few times to see more than just the 9 samples picked with the original profile i took). sure, surprises are nice, but after reading about other subscription boxes, i don't think i want to chance it with them.

a few items worth mentioning are a full size joico k-pak deep-penetrating reconstructor, a glass nail file (i never see these for less than $6-$7 in stores) & some full size shadows from a brand i think called bling (to be honest, they were hella shimmery & not my style, but i'm sure appreciated by others!). i get samples of different eye creams, face creams/moisturizers/scrubs, even got some coverfx eye/face primer that i'm starting to try out on a regular basis to see if i like. i like getting to try different products, especially if i notice i ran out of my favorite exfoliating face wash at midnight when i'm getting ready for bed...one of my samples totally saved my night!

cons? shipping. my box usually takes a week to get to me after receiving the shipping notice, but whatever, they can't control the USPS (i notice my package tends to sit for 2-3 days in a city about 45 minutes away from me >.<). that coverfx primer i was talking about? it was a small sample but in a huuuge tube. again, beauty army doesn't make this but i feel like it wasn't eco-friendly & i have no way of reusing the tube. (jars are so great!)

so really, i have no complaints on beauty army themselves. they (i believe her name is nancy, that runs their twitter) are always on twitter talking to customers, dealing with issues, & interacting with the customers. i've use every box received by them (mostly organizing nail care, nail art supplies, etc) & even reused some of the jars samples have came in once they're gone.

i don't have a blog or youtube channel, which is probably why i think i'm rambling here, but bottom line, i've been with beautyarmy since they started & can't wait to see what they have in store for us for the rest of 2012! totally worth the $12 a month.

Has anyone who subscribes to multiple monthly beauty boxes noticed that the first box or two from a new website is REALLY LUXE, then the quality, size, and cost of the full size product to sample ratio drops off significantly?
I bought 3 out of 5 samples from the first Beautybar.com Sample Society box offered. I got my 3rd or 4th one yesterday and wanted to cry, it's SO skimpy and lackluster in all ways. This is the one associated with Allure magazine, so if next month doesn't improve, at least I have a free yr. subscription to Allure out of it all.

BTW, I have especially liked all of my Look Bag shipments. The brands are usually well-known to me. I like being able to store the samples in the soft sheer fabric bags.. takes up a lot less space than the subscription beauty boxes do. There seems to be sone negativity about the company/ distributor on some beauty blogs within the past few weeks,, but I've not had any problems at all with billing/ shipmens/ or content. .

Is anyone still subscribed to GoGoGirlfriend? I can't even get a properly formed website to load now.

It's all for subscribers but all these beauty subscription companies you can cancel at any time. My first Look Bag is set to ship in a week. I'll post about it once I get it.

@Amanda - there is also The Look Bag by InStyle Magazine. $10 a month.

Hey ladies! Just this week Allure and BeautyBar.com launched Sample Society. I see so many of these sites coming in the near future. I just blogged a bit about a lot of them if you want to see I think these monthly sample makeup + beauty product subscription clubs are great. First it started with BirchBox now even YouTube makeup artist Michelle Phan recently launched her own monthly box. Now an Allure and BeautyBar.com collaboration was definitely inevitable. This trend really is starting to pick up! I recently blogged about the many other sites out there including a few sites in the UK and Canada: http://www.fashioninvites.com/2012/02/03/birchbox-samplesociety-myglam-luxebox-monthly-makeup-sample-boxes-subscriptions/ in case anyone is interested.

@Nggak Bisa Gitu D. - "I just learned about these Glam Bags: http://www.myglam.com/the-bag! I went to the site and it looks like you can choose between a bronzer/neutral eye shadow or nail polish from the same company." -- Sorry to disappoint but you get whatever they send. Some people got nail polish, some got eye shadow, some got two or more bags while others got none this month (some got refunds, some didn't).

I've gotten a little bored with Birchbox.

Just tried a brand NEW one called The Look Bag - it had a lot of new or up and coming brands products in it that were mainly skincare oriented. Here's exactly what I got in the bag: http://www.solifestyle.com/2012/01/look-bag-newest-beauty-bag-on-block.html

I'd definitely recommend The Look Bag if you want to discover new brands! I'd also like to try TestTube, heard a lot of good things about that one.

Re: MyGlam full size items. Yes and no there are there SOME full size items and some deluxe size.

December's bag had a full size Urban Decay shadow, a travel size UD primer, a deluxe size Tarte mascara, a full size packet of either blotting sheets or blush sheets (not both) and a full size NYX lip gloss

January's bag contains a full size Freeman cucumber peel-off mask ($3.99 found at Walmart). A 2 oz (deluxe size) WEN conditioner ($3.75), a full size shadow from TheBalm ($16) OR their nail polish ($10) and a supposedly full size concealer from Sheer Cover ($19.50).

I just saw Macbarbie07's video on her bag and she stated the bag is valued between $49 to $57 when in reality the MOST it's valued as is a little under $44, a difference of $13.

"Everyone's bags will Include 1 full size concealer, 1 full size facial mask, 1 full size eyeshadow OR nail polish, and a deluxe sample of the wen conditioner :) the over all value is $49-$57. Hope this helps you! :) "

i got one of the beauty army kits. just their first month so far but i was pretty impressed! here's an article i did on it about them & what i got (not really a blogger just did an article on it for a friend on twitter...don't feel like typing it all out again).

but worth mentioning, you get to select your samples (6 out of 9) out of a profile you fill out, so you get to choose what you want. they're also using nice boxes (like a cigar box...sturdy with a flip lid) so you can reuse them for different things.

they're worth checking out i think!

I just subscribed to myglam and it looks promising.

There's one called Beauty Army that looks kinda awesome. You get to pick your own samples for 12$ a month.

@LaToya - you're not the only one who had problems. Kim (another Beautylish member) had problems as well and couldn't get a hold of Keisha or anyone else from MakeupMonthly. Like you she had to file a dispute with her credit card company.

As for my reply to Keisha - (she copied and pasted above on my blog as well as on Make Up Talk in several sections). The fact is that on the website there is no indication that the company is actually licensed under the name Your Own Beauty. The copyright on the page is MakeupMonthly.com not Your Own Beauty. The only place on that site with the words "Your Own Beauty" is on the About page but even then there is no indication that's the business name. From that page:

"Your Own Beauty's philosophy is to provide women with the opportunity to improve their use of beauty related products in a convenient manner with access and advice.

With Your Own Beauty's Make-up Monthly Club we can satisfy all your beauty needs. We are the one place you can receive name brand cosmetic and beauty supplies chosen specifically for you!

Keisha Roland,
I subscribed to makeupmonthly.com and only got 1 month of items but you keep billing me for 3 months. I tried to call you and I never got anyone. I had to have my credit card company do a compliant and they (my credit card) gave me my money back. Please explain how that could happen.

im from the uk and the one we have here is called the glossybox.
even though it was all lovely presented i do think that they ill it with useless rubbish that will be left in a drawer, e.g, foots creams perfume testers that you dont like, nail varnish you dont like, its a complete gimick! and a waste of money you add up over the year how much you spend on it you could probably go get yourself something half decent!

Hello,

I am the owner of MakeupMonthly and admittedly we got off to a rough start in the beginning regarding the products we were receiving from suppliers because we wanted to supply high end items at discounted prices which required us to be able to purchase at a discount. Now as our membership has grown, our suppliers have been willing to discount their prices to us because now we can purchase in greater bulk.

I am not sure why you believe we have no Master license in Washington state. This is untrue, as our logo states the name of the company is your Own Beauty's MakeupMonthly.com. I file my B&O tax return every month as required by the state under our trade name Your Own Beauty.

When I first started my company it was me and a cosmetologist operating out of my home. When I registered my website it required a physical address, it was my home address which the site warned me I should make private because people have used the information to steal your identity. I do not live in Federal Way so I was not required to get a business license in that city, but I am just over the city line from the post office located in Federal Way which is why I my PO box is located here.

I strive to give all my subscribers good customer service. Which although I have an initial three month I have remained very hands on with the subscribers and have allowed the to cancel and suspend their subscriptions if needed. Every subscriber who has been dissatisfied with what they received in their package has been made whole either by refund or replacement item. I won't lie there were more in the beginning, now they are few and far between.

I hope anyone will give us the opportunity to show what a great company we have become and our intention to satisfy every single one of our subscribers.
