I saw opi's matte nail polish and i think it looks cute!!! Has anyone used it? does it feel weird? Like chalky or anything? How is it would you recommend it?

I've used China Glaze's matte top coat, and I liked it a lot. If u were a fan of OPI's suede polishes, you should like matte. I just prefer buying the top coat since I'm not limited in which colors I want a matte finish on.

I haven't tried that polish but i've never had good luck with polishes that are designed to be matte. It could just be my nails or the base coat i'm using but i've had a lot better luck just using a matte top coat like Soma suggested.

Oh, a quick tip: do not go camping with matte nail polishes of any kind. Dirt and grime have a tendency to stick to it easily... Same goes if you garden as well without gloves...

@Meidy what shade of pink? China Glaze Pink Voltage kind of dries matte. It is a super bright pink with a blue tint if that makes any sense. I love how it looks but it chips kind of easily on me. I am really tough on my nails though so you may have better luck with it.

I think matte polishes and top coats are fun and give a different look, but my only problem is if you get some a little bit of oil on them like from your face or lotion they tend to loose the matte look and look like a semi gloss.

Every matte nail polish I've tried from any brand has been rubbish and chipped instantly. Matte top coats have been the way to go for me - plus then you can put them over any colour. ^__^

I love my OPI Suede's. They are my go to when I'm in a hurry in the am. Say I paint my nails the night before, and hate it the next am (I'm known to do that!), I can usually slap on a couple coats (and a couple I have are one coaters!) an be out of the house in 10 minutes with totally dry nails! I love matte's.

I haven't tried any matte or suede finish polishes yet, but I love the look of matte nails. I have the Essie matte About You topcoat, and i love it. But @Soma is right if you get lotion/oil whatever on it they do tend to lose the matte finish and go a bit glossy.

Just keep you hands moisturized because there is nothing worse than seeing matte polish on ashy and cracked hands. Yikes!

I have a couple of OPI's matte finish nail polishes and I actually don't like them at all :( I have Alpine Snow and La Paz-itively Hot and they both chipped on me within a few minutes. The texture was kinda funky and it showed all kinds of imperfections in my nail bed, so I ended up having to work really hard to get it to look halfway decent. AAAAAND they say you can't use a nail base or top coat with them or else you may lose the matte effect. I started to think maybe I could get it to look good if I put down a ridge filler, then a matte finish base coat, then the two coats of color, then a matte finish top coat to make it last but all those steps just made my head hurt.

I have the Essie Matte Top Coat so, like Soma said, I am not limited to which colors I can mattify. It's okay--I can't say it's great but it does the job. It does not reapplication every couple of days because the mattiness of it goes away and becomes this dull shine after time.

NYC has recently released a matte top coat for about a buck. I just got it and so far I love it :D
