I'm glad theyre changing the location, it was beyond packed last year - it started clearing out by 3ish (but still the booths were selling strong). Try to not bring a bag if you can, or bring a small shoulder bag. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! Check online to see what speakers will be attending. I attended an awesome sfx class last year. Network Network Network! It also doesnt matter what time you arrive, you WILL get in and everything will be PACKED no matter if your early, on time or late. I arrived an hr or so late and still got everything I wanted. Check the brands that will be attending and make a list of what you want, you will get distracted and end up missing out/or having to wait longer to get what you want. BEWARE OF INGLOT!! Last but not least, have fun and take pictures!

Oh and about the discounts - they go from 20% - 40% off depending on the brand.

I know its a little early but I just can't help myself but to take about this topic. I never been to IMATS so am thinking about going this year and plus am currently being in rolled in a Makeup School that will be there as well. I went on there website and saw that changed the venue of it to Pier 94 in new york. I want start saving up now to go. So I wanted to know have any of ya been to IMATS before? How was your experience? Any Tips or product recommendations "MOSTLY"?

its my dream to go to imats... ive seen plenty of videos about it, its insane! all the best makeup companies are there and sell their products discounted.. (ex: makeup forever, mac, sugarpill, occ, sigma) and sooooo much more. its the best time to get any of your makeup needs..

Congrats to everyone going. I always went to the one in Cali but was thrilled to be in NYC this past year for the first IMATS in New York. I bet the one in 2012 will be amazing! You girls should try going to The Makeup Show, bigger and better.

IMATS is a mega big deal, and you will love going! The discounts alone are worth the trip - make sure to bring some cash to spend and business cards to network with. Sign up for the education and check out each brand's events. We'll be next to some cool brands like Yaby and Inglot - and I know both are offering education or classes in-booth or advertised in the classroom listing. Some of your fave beauty bloggers will be hanging at our booth and we will have contests and giveaways all 3 days. Yes...3. There is a "pro only" night the night before the events...if you have the necessary qualifications, that's the night to go and network. Otherwise just wear some comfy heels and prepare to spend the day there...so much to see!

Ahh I love the I give Good Face Buttons I still have mine from two years ago. Been to TMS two yrs in arow but was unable to go to IMATS NYC last yr but most probably I will be there this years and I'm supper excited :)

do any of you guys know what a typical "discount" would be for most brands? is it like 20% or is that too much??

20...30...40...50% At The Makeup Show, Temptu was 30%, Smashbox was 50%, MUFE was 40% I believe. BIG discounts.

Eh, you'll see lol It is absolutely the most packed booth at imats, last year there was so much chaos and mayhem. Just be sure to double check that they give you the correct order. I ended up coming home w the wrong order!
