I dont know why or how but lately I have really BAD split ends and my hair is dry, i tried almost everything even different types or olive oil, carrot, coconut it doesn't do anything.
What should i do? ^-^

me too!! it's driving me nuts!!! i'm gonna follow & i hope somebody has a solution or several :) i can't afford the high end products so i'm hoping for a cheaper solution to our problem. good luck hon!

thanks and im researching it

I suggest you regularly deep condition your hair, once or twice a week should do it. When I say deep condition, I mean a DEEP condition! I've had issues with dry hair so I'd mix up regular conditioner with a teaspoon spoon of honey and a big spoon of olive oil and leave it in my hair for like 3 hours. It seriously works after a few months!

Girl, get you some 3 min miracle. I use it 3 times a week for a littler longer directed. Magic!

thanks

You want a deep conditioner NOT FROM A DRUGSTORE, regular trims, & if you're heat styling your hair, use a product specifically for heat protection-Aquage Beyond Shine, Big Sexy Heat Protection Spray, etc. Something that says "Heat Protection" or "Thermal Styling Spray" or something along those lines. Don't buy from Target/Walmart/Walgreens, etc. If they sell food, don't buy haircare there. Drugstore conditioners cause more split ends than anything else.

LOL "they sell food" XD n thanks :D

<<Drugstore conditioners cause more split ends than anything else.>>

What's your evidence for this?

I agree. I don't think they can cause split ends. Maybe not help as much as a salon quality conditioner but I don't hardly think it could hurt.

What about the new Tresemme Split End repair shampoo and conditioner? Nexxus makes on too that's a lot more expensive... BUT the Tresemme one seems to work fairly well, for half the cost. As long as you use some kind of heat protector if you heat style and deep condition once or twice a week, you should see an improvement. Try cutting back how often you wash your hair. That will help, too

The Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask is a miracle worker.

I love the one and only argan oil products. They have a deep conditioning mask that I use 2x per week. And the oil itself. I also use the curling cream when I let my hair air dry and most definitely make sure youre using a heat protectant when you use any form of heat on your hair.

This deep conditioner works WONDERS! I bleach my hair, because I go from one vibrant hair color to another. This stuff definitely puts the moisture back in my hair. No one can believe that my hair still feels soft and healthy after all the abuse. They have a whole haircare line, and it's sold at Ulta and other salon stores. Or you can order online.

thanks :D

I agree invest in a good deep conditioner, I like Deva Curl Heaven in Hair, and deep condtion at least once a week. Make sure your ends are trimmed if it's been a while! Good Luck!

Um, there's nothing wrong with drugstore deep conditioners. I've tried Joico's K-Pak and Aussie's 3-Minute Miracle, and I prefer Aussie. A lot of girls do.

here's my advice,
massage your head with olive oil & leave it for around 30 minutes or more.
Then do your regular hair routine but leave your conditioner for about 4 minutes, maybe? you'll love the results. If you blowdry your hair then it's better to cold-dry it rather than blowdrying it with hot air. Also, don't stress too much!

Or you can invest in a good condition, it's upto you! Good luck :) x

i have really dry hair, so to combat that, i only wash my hair on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Every Sunday night, i use a deep conditioner. right now i'm using the "It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask". I apply it from the ears down to dry hair. Then, i put my hair in a disposable, plastic, shower cap. Then, i use the blow dryer for about 20-30 minutes, heating up the shower cap, making in really moist environment within the cap. then, i leave the conditioner in overnight and wash it out in the morning with whichever shampoo i have on hand and i condition with the aussie 3 minute miracle. On Tuesday and Thursday night, i apply a mixture of olive oil and vitamin e oil from the ears down, adding extra on the very tips. i also put my hair in a shower cap and blow dry.(the blow drying really makes a difference! the heat activates all of the ingredients!) in the morning i wash it out and use the aussie again. When i get out of the shower i use the "It's a 10 miracle Leave in treatment", some vitamin e oil in the ends, and i use serums instead of cremes. i hope this helps! even with all of this stuff, i still struggle with some split ends, but my hair tends to feel really soft and amazing most of the time!

ps. i also rarely use heat on my hair and i always use a heat protectant when i do :)
pps. stay away from garnier shampoos. they have a ton of alcohol, which is really drying.

My evidence is the fact that I do hair every day for a living, I keep educated on new studies, trends, techniques & products, & I know the chemistry behind hair & hair products. Drugstore hair products contain wax, alcohol in significantly greater quantities than professional products that dry out your hair. One of the main causes of split ends is a lack of proper conditioning. As a hair stylist, I see & feel the effects of drugstore products on a regular basis. You can take literally any drugstore conditioner, pour it into a cup, let it sit for a day & you can make a candle out of it. The wax separates. Good quality products simply don't do that. When I can run my nails down a strand of hair & there is a waxy buildup that peels off, that's bad. That is not hair in good condition. Just because something smells good, doesn't mean it is good for you. Pantene & Garnier tend to be the worst, but I've yet to find a drugstore product I would use on myself or my clients besides Batiste dry shampoo & some pomades like Murray's or Royal Crown.

I would say use a deep conditioner (like MorrocanOil) at least once a week, use a thermal spray before you curl, blow dry, or straighten your hair (I use Paul Mitchell and Chi)

the GHD hair mask is really good :)

I love this! You just wash your hair normally and when your done put this in your hair and leave in for five to ten min, then you wash out and style like normal. It works great for conditioning your hair! Love hair mayonnaise.

Wal mart has it for 5$

I mist my hair every day before blowing it dry with "Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist" (which is $24 at Sephora). It's really great and keeps my hair soft, which is often over-processed and dry. I also use an Ojon "Damage Reverse™ Restorative Hair Treatment Plus" once a week to keep my hair soft. It's $33 at Sephora. Basically, the two of them keep my hair really soft, really supple. They're a little pricy but they're the only things that have really worked for me.

I recently had a bad bleach-job that left my hair falling out, and these products combined really help get it back to its soft, shiny shape.

Best of luck!

If you're looking for a cheap and effective answer than here it is! Okay, so all you need is Mayonnaise! Gross? Yes but EFFECTIVE! Depending on your length, a half a cup is usually good, just apply it from root to ends and leave in for about 15 minutes! You can apply a bag and heat, that will help the minerals and vitamins to penetrate deeper. Once time is up, just wash your hair with shampoo, it may take a few times to get the Mayonnaise smell out. Hope this helps!
