Can someone please explain to me how you should use mascara in a hygienic way when you have more than one client at once? I understand about using the disposable mascara wands but if you put them in and out (more than once) of the mascara, won't the "germs" be around still for the next client? Am I making sense? Any help would be appreciated.

I do the same thing that Andrew does and when I am done I have a spray bottle with alcohol in it and I will spray the top part of the mascara and wait for it to dry before putting the lid back on. I am a germ freak so I always make sure to spray and clean everything when I am done

Dont yall find the disposables for mascara arent very good?!?!? i sure do...wish they would make them better. Do yall use disposable brushes with eyes too, or just disinfect between clients?

That's great! Thank you so much. I'm not a professional but I might be doing my cousin's wedding makeup and her bridesmaids and I wanted to find out all the do's and don'ts beforehand.

I use a separate disposable wand for each eye so there is no double dipping. Or if I have a bride- I purchase a small mascara and include it in her touch up kit.

Wow! Thank you SO much Jordan L.!!! That is outstanding :)

Jordan--you have the best advice on this kind of stuff!

never dip your disposable wand in there...those disposable wands really add up too. To save money, buy a mascara fan brush. I scrape a glob of mascara onto a palette, then dip my fan brush into that. A good fan brush will run you about 15-20 bucks, but you can easily clean it in between clients and re-use

Sorry, I meant never double dip your disp. wand in there, not never use one. I have 3 fan brushes in case I don't have a lot of time to clean in between..but even still, mine only take a second to clean. I'll never go back to wands

If you sanitize your client in the beginning of your makeup application (wipe down their face with a makeup remover wipe) you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Eyelashes are an extension of our body and if cleanse they are not a bacterial problem. Have your client keep their eyes closed and apply the mascara this way. You will also find this helps give their lashes a curl. It takes some practice but once you get used to it you will love it.

Wipe the wand and top of the tube on a sanitised wet tissue after each use/before dipping in the mascara again. Repeat for each client.

OMG!! Thank you so much for that link! I've been shelling out money to maintain my kit and wasn't very cost effective using some of the products I was using. Time to stock pile. <3 <3 <3.
