You don't I just depends on the manager. They usually give u a trial run to see how you are with clients and how great u do their makeup. Good luck!

i love sephora and always wanted to work there .. now that i've discovered this place and youtube tutorials i have this sick addiction to make up and i feel i would be happy working there. with my limited experience im sure i can help newbies way better than some ppl in there.. my sister went to buy a foundation and its so not her shade. i just felt bad because now she cant return it,

I used to work there. Sephora is just another retail job unless you're hired as a makeup artist. It's not like getting hired at MAC where you do need to have makeup skills.

I work at Sephora =] You don't need any requirements as far as makeup goes, they are looking for your customer service skills. But it also not likely that they will hire you and let you work on clients. The new hires are usually STRICTLY cashwrap for a good while.
As far as your sister goes, she should definitely be able to return it! With receipt she can get a full refund how she paid and without it would be store credit.

Assuming she got the foundation in Sephora, you can definitely return it. Their return policy is on the website and should be on the receipt.
