BB” stands for blemish balm or beauty balm; the cream was originally used to speed healing after laser treatments. The craze really took off in Asia when celebrities in Korea attributed their flawless skin to the product. BB cream, which is thick and tinted, is a moisturizer/sunscreen/foundation/concealer in one product — basically, it's like a tinted moisturizer with SPF. This is unique in Asia, where studies show that the average woman's skin care routine numbers seven (!) steps.

Are you looking for a Western brand or a Korean brand or the original German brand? Western brands are more on the orange and pink side versus Korean which is more on the ashy or yellow side. I haven't seen real swatches of the German original brand but I know they make four colors. The Western brands are primarily silicone tinted moisturizers or primer like while Korean brands are unique and not really a tinted moisturizer - more like if a tinted moisturizer and a foundation had a baby. lol
My favorite Korean brand: Skin79 (Dr. Jart is good too from what I'm told).
I like Too Faced BB cream as well but it's a bit orange for me.

I was actually wondering about them too. I bought the Too Faced BB Cream in whatever the lightest shade was, the color was fine but it burned my skin & I had to return it. So now I'm terrified to try others. I usually use MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Light, have for several years now with no problems (um, the only reason I want to try a BB cream is because I'm a product whore. I have no real reason to even want to switch from my MAC, it makes my skin amazing.) Any thoughts?

I've been loving Smashbox BB cream lately. Though now I'm eyeing Nars new tinted moisturizer because its clock full of healthy goodies for the skin so I look forward to when it hits Sephora.

I've tried the Laura Mercier TM and the Garnier BB Cream, both are great, but I prefer the Garnier for a better colour match on my fair skin (MAC NW/NC15), and the SPF 15. Plus the price.. it's less than half the price of the Laura Mercier TM.

I don't like the LM TM at all, but I've been eyeing the Garnier. Good to know someone likes it! They're BOGO 50% at Walgreens right now :)

I had to leave the Laura Mercier TM alone because just after a month of wear I started to break out on my chin and plus my hubby said my skin looked orange....I didn't think it did but hey who am I to argue. lol

Skinfood is a Korean brabd that haw quite a few BB creams to choose from depending on your needs.Take a look, i use the peach-green tea one for oily skin and i am super happy with it.
