Last year I wore a primer and foundation that had SPF in them and I had a horrible white cast on my face in my photos. I'm looking for recommendations for a pretty long wearing foundation (so I don't sweat it off or anything), that will look good in photographs.

I was thinking MUFE HD but I don't live anywhere near a place that sells MUFE products and I don't want to spend that much on a product that may not work for me.

I've heard good things about Revlon Colourstay foundation. It's inexpensive compared to MUFE HD. I dont think it has SPF in it, you'd have to check it out :) Or Neutragena Healthy skin foundation. Give them both a look at next time you're at the drug store.

I really recommend MUFE HD if you can get your hands on it. It's my go to liquid foundation for when I know I'm going to be on camera. I used it all throughout my vacation and my skin in my photos looks healthy and flawless. But if you'd rather try an alternative foundation I'd suggest Revlon Photoready Foundation. I've heard great things about it and it has absolutely no SPF so no white cast!

I use Revlon Colorstay for my regular foundation and I do like it but unfortunately it has spf 15 :( I haven't tried Healthy Skin though.

And thanks Elle! Is it oily or anything on you?

For primer I would highly recommend the photo finish primer, by Smashbox. It is amazing and looks great under foundation and in photographs as well. I am currently using the healthy skin foundation and I really do like it however, I am really only attesting to the primer for wonderful looking skin for photographs ( and long wearing foundation).

<<I use Revlon Colorstay for my regular foundation and I do like it but unfortunately it has spf 15 :(>>

To clarify: The Normal/Dry formula has SPF 15. The Combination/Oily formula has SPF 6, and the darkest shades have no SPF at all. The active SPF ingredient in it is Titanium Dioxide (white powder, used to make foundations lighter or darker, also used as a sunscreen).

Elle is wrong; Photoready *does* have SPF. SPF 20, in fact. I've also read it's very shimmery/dewy on the skin, so if you're oily, it may not be a good option for you.

I can't think of a drugstore foundation without SPF.

You may want to consider a cream or liquid foundation from a theatrical brand (Graftobian, Kryolan, Ben Nye). No SPF and they're formulated to last. They're also fairly inexpensive (not much more than most drugstore brands). There is a bit of trial-and-error, but you won't be out so much money. (Graftobian has little cream foundation sample palettes with five colours each; you can order from camerareadycosmetics.com, which has a good reputation.)

OH! Why don't you just go to Sephora and Mac and ask for samples. Usually you can get one or 2 days worth of product in a sample. And it will cost you....NOTHING! And then you can decide if you'd like to go back and buy it at a later date :)

Estee Lauder also gives generous samples. I wear doublewear and it's fantastic! And it photographs just fine (on me anyways)

Oh thats good to know, thanks Shelly!

But yeah I was thinking samples also, but I dont have a Sephora near me so I'd be working off just the department store counters, which I don't have an issue with.

I have been wearing Maybelline Fitme and it lasts well for me, seems tophotograph fine. Photos at night with major flash may be a different story, though! Might be good to try a few test runs under similar conditions first! Good luck!

Lancome also offers samples and their Photogenic is made to smooth skin and is recommended for picture taking. If you put their Dual Finish powder over it, I doubt you'll get the white cast. It's a high SPF in the finishing powder that usually gets you!

MAC Matchmaster foundation DOES have SPF 15, but I haven't experienced any white-cast with it, so maybe ask for a sample and try taking test shots at home with the flash on.

If you have pretty good skin, MAC Face & Body with their Mineralize Skinfinish Natural gives a very natural, beautiful finish in photographs.

Have a wonderful time and good luck foundation hunting! Remember: samples are friends. :P

I like estee lauder's double matte! The stuff stays put. I agree with @Teressa, they give very generous samples so you can decide if you like it or not:)

I use Maybelline Super Stay.. it blends easily and actually looks natural..Also, it doesn't look oily after a while like some I've tried. It makes my skin look like porcelin.. I just started using it and I love it. Before I tried the Fit Me, but with me, it looked oily after a few hours. I would consider using this, it's a life saver for sure :) Hope I helped!
