How much do you get trimmed off? If it's less than 1/4 to 1/2 an inch, you may need to get a bit more snipped (not every time, just initially.) Do you straighten often? I would def recommend the K-Pak, it's going to have a higher amount of keratin than drugstore products (don't buy salon brands from drugstores-they're often diluted, counterfeit or expired!) You might also try Moroccan Oil's masks, they have two, a hydrating & a restorative. They're pricey, but worth it. I would recommend the restorative-while nothing can heal damaged ends, it can calm them down & help prevent further damage.

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you have tried the JOICO K-Pack reconstructor and if so: is it worth it? My hair needs some serious love and care.

I love Joico K=Pack reconstructor, it has keratin in it, which your hair is in your hair already. So it helps repair damage to the hair by putting keratin back into the hair. I have used it and recommend it definately. They also make a K-pack shampoo and conditioner that would be great for you to use when using the reconstructor, for extra repair!

I love it, it's what I personally use for my hair care & color. That being said, what's up with your hair? Because I know some other products that I love that might be better...like, when I removed the black from my hair & recolored it violet, it needed some TLC. I used Redken's Shot Phase Color Extend & their Shot Phix 3.5 for chemically distressed hair, & I had never seen such amazing results.

I naturally have very coarse, thick, and curly hair. I typically wash my hair twice a week and use heat protection whenever I straighten, my ends are still very damaged. Even after I get a trim they instantly get damaged again.

At Sally's they have a generic Joico K-Pac I'm considering trying... hmm

Organix also has a kertain mask available at Walgreens, RiteAid, Target, ShopKo and Walmart for around $7.99.
