My friend has an extremely sensitive scalp, and she uses a natural shampoo and conditioner that her dermatologist recommended. It is called Organic Color Systems Soothe Plus. You can only get it from a salon, but it is definitely worth it. You can call the distributor, Organic Salon Systems, to find a salon near you that carries it.

Face cleanser....I never thought of that! Does the acv leave hair with that oily texture? and Bar Shampoo? That's also one I've never heard of before! Jason is a product I've heard of before but not Aveda. I have so much to try! Fingers crossed one or more of these will work for me! Thanks!!!!!!!!

Unless you get an allergy test you won't know exactly what it is you're allergic to HOWEVER there is some relief when it comes to washing your hair.

BAR shampoo soaps!

Lush has a few as does a company called Herbaria.

If push comes to shove and if you're not allergic to Ivory soap you can use a cheese grater to grate up the soap and keep it in a container and use that as shampoo. It maybe a bit drying so you can mix in some type of natural oil like olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil or macadamia oil so long as you're not allergic to it.

Hi Gabrielle, what type of cleanser do you use on your face? If it's a foaming cleanser, you could try using that on your scalp. If your scalp still has a reaction to the same product that you're using on your face, you should try an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse (mix Apple Cider Vinegar and water and pour on your hair). If that still doesn't work, I think you should save to go see the doctor.

I've been holding off on seeing a derm due to my financial situation at the moment, also figuring that maybe I could find a fix myself. Buuuuuuuut I think it may be time to go soon if the natural shampoos don't help, because I'm forking out money left and right on shampoos that I use twice before I buy a new one. I have tried the sulfate-free line from l'oreal, with no luck. Which sucks because though my scalp feels like its going to fall off my skull, my strands have never been shinier, softer, and all around healthier. It was a bitter sweet romance lol.

Have you considered seeing a dermatologist to see what your skin is allergic to? It might be a better alternative so you can be directed to a proper hypo-allergenic shampoo that will work for you.

I've only been allergic to one shampoo before and it wasnt a cheapie either. It was a fredrick fekkai apple cider shampoo which runs about $25.00, that shampoo made my scalp so itchy you'd have thought I had fleas or something I mean it was the worst feeling I've experienced from ANY shampoo.I was itching so so bad I thought I was gonna give myself welts. I usually stick to more natural shampoos, I like the shampoos and conditioners from trader joes, you might want to look into more natural shampoos. Giovanni has nice products and you can find them near the natural products in the beauty aisle of the drugstore. I duno if this will actually help but I hope so :)

This seems crazy, but I'm allergic to literally all the shampoos I've ever tried! Obviously the cheap ones would be the culprit. But I've gone to my hair dresser about it and tried practicly everything under the sun she told me to buy. Still just as bad of a reaction as the cheap shampoos! Does anyone have any tips of advice? Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
