My hair is currently about 3 inches from me shoulders and my ends are horrible. They are extremely dry and split. I let my conditioner sit for about 2 minuets every time I take a shower. I also oily hair so I've been very hesitant to use a damaged hair shampoo since they're typically more oily. It isn't working too well and I wanted to know what your favorite damaged hair shampoo is.

Hey Katie! Good question! I know what you mean. I have an oily scalp too, and dry ends. I would try the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo. It doesn't leave my hair feeling oily at all and helps keep my ends moisturized. Another suggestion is using Argon oil (only on the ends of your hair.) Argon oil is a SUPER great moisturizer for super dry hair. Your hair basically drinks this stuff and becomes hydrated. And perhaps instead of soaking your hair with conditioner daily for 2 minutes, use a 'Deep' Conditioner once a week. I suggest Aussies "3 Minute Miracle." Hope I could help you out Katie! Good luck

I know you're asking for a treatment or conditioner, but the best thing would be a cut! Best thing in the world for split ends!

I agree with Jen. Get thee to a salon and get a hair cut.

L'oreal has an overnight split end repair to keep your ends from splitting anymore, but if you reeeeeeally don't want a lot cut off... start with only an inch... use the l'oreal stuff, and as you see your hair growing... cut a little more off until your ends aren't so damaged. But you have to be careful your hair won't just keep splitting.

As a cosmetologist I really suggest getting at least 1/4" cut off every like 5 weeks or more every 6-8 weeks cause no matter how much you drench your hair in conditioner it's not gonna seal back a broken cuticle. By not getting it trimmed you are only gonna have to cut more off in the long run

trimming often and conditioning masks, one of my favorites is Olive oil,Shea butter and coconut oil, just treat your hair like a princess and 'feed' it the nutrients and trim it often so it can grow(=

I agree with Nadjia in saying you can't really repair a broken hair. You have to get the ends cut off before it splits too far up - believe me, I learned the hard way. After getting a good bit of my hair cut off which took out all the split ends, my hairdresser told me a good way to prevent splits in the first place with our type of hair (dry, brittle ends & oily scalp) is when you put conditioner in your hair, put it only on the part that would be outside of the elastic if you put it up in a ponytail. That way, the ends get hydrated & the scalp doesn't. I alternate between conditioners every few weeks, but the one for repairing that I use is the Clense & Mend from Aussie. I also recommend that you have a big toothed comb in the shower to comb the conditioner through your hair. It helps everything get evenly covered.
I hope this helped out c:

I would recommend getting a trip and a keratin treatment. I love the keratriplex treatment from Paul Mitchell. But I agree wit Devon E., there is not way to truly repair split ends, and the longer your go without a haircut, the worse it will get.

If your hair is oily, only saturate the ends of your hair with conditioner. The scalp produces enough natural oil to take care of the top of the head which gets oily quicker.

Yeah! Hair is dead cells, anyways. That's just what it is. And when your ends SPLIT from processing or heat, or anything... there's nothing you can do to FIX them besides cut them off. You can put stuff there to make it LOOK less damaged but in reality, it's just dead. So a cut would be the best thing to do!

after you cut off your split ends, you should keep a coconut oil spray bottle handy (DIY) so that you spray it onto your damp ends after you get out of your shower. coconut oil acts as a great leave in conditioner..(just don't spray too much). It's also a great styling agent because it hardens a little (like pomade) when it cools! :)
