I suffer from mild acne and rosacea covering my cheeks. My skin is also very oily. I can't seem to find ANYTHING that works! I've tried benzyl peroxide and it worked for the first couple weeks before giving up on me. I've been using OXY medicated treatment and it's helped a little bit, but not much. Proativ didn't help, and I've tried so so SO many other things! Has anyone used witch hazel? If so, how did it work for you?

well I use it every night, but more as a toner(after i cleanse) then something to help get rid of my acne. It's gentle enough for my sensitive skin so I like that. For me it helps tame the oil production in the t-zone, sometimes it helps with some inflammation because it feels nice and cool when applied to the skin. When I use it, it really helps the texture of my skin, it makes it really nice and smooth. The only thing I *think* helped me, was getting back on birth control. I had decided to stop taking it, and when I did my skin went haywire and got really bad, and now it's practically cleared up with the exception of some occasional zits and minor dark spots.

I use witch hazel every morning and night! I have oily and acne prone skin. I first cleanse my face with Clinique 3 step system for acne with my clarisonic mia. Then, I apply witch hazel with a cotton ball. After that I have a prescription cream, then I follow up with the clinique toner and moisturizer. I thin witch hazel made a huge difference in my skin. I actually have a video on witch hazel, check it out!

I use witch hazel every morning and at night. I only wash my face at night with oil free face wash and I put witch hazel on a cotton pad and put it on my face. The last thing I do is apply my topical acne medication and I use Kheils moisturizer. In the morning I don't wash my face but I will put witch hazel on a cotton pad and put it on my face. Apply acne medication and I use Boots matte lotion on my face. I stopped washing my face in the morning bc my I found that it actually made my skin more oily

You can also get Witch hazel in facial washes i use 'Witch Foam Facial Wash' it is really really cheap too (you can buy it from Boots or Superdrug) it really prevents spots because the oil isn't here to clog your pores xx

watch the video where I explain how witch hazel works and why proactiv doesn't. Also explain what casues acne and how to treat it.  http://youtu.be/8M84eMUEZ1g

I would recommend the Essential Cleanser and Toner for Oily Skin from L'Bel. The foaming cleanser formula contains Witch Hazel and the toner uses salicylic acid which can be used to treat acne prone skin. The toner also contains powder mattifiers to keep oils at bay during the day. While this product is not an acne fighting product like ProActiv, I used it after ProActiv dried out my face and it helped repair the damage to my skin.
