I'm desperate, my nails never fail to chip!!! I need a budget friendly option for these two products. :)

Have you tried the Sally Hansen products? I honestly use an offbrand NK "calcium base coat" & "glossier nails topcoat" they run about 2 dollars at random beauty supplies.

I can't really speak for base coats, I've only really tried my OPI, but as for top coats, if it's just a solid colour nail, try Revlon Extra-Life No Chip Top Coat. It's a liiitttle more than your run of the mill drugstore top coats, but trust me, it's worth every penny. Your nails will thank you. If it's for nail art, I go with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri anti chip top coat. It doesn't blur or smudge any lines, which I love.

The best top coat in my opinion is Seche Vite that stuff is amazing and dry's my nails in like a minute :)

sally hansen mirror shine for topcoat, hands down! just like seche vite but better because it doesn't get as gloopy!
base coat: i use gelous base coat and it's hands down my HG. I would consider it 'drugstore' because it's from sally beauty and between 6-8 bucks

Ok I have a question. Ive used seche vite twice now with the base coat and 2 different brand polishes and my polish has chipped almost immediately. What am I doing wrong? And whats even crazier Id tried L.A. colors top coat 2 weeks prior and my nails stayed flawless for a week!!!
