Only condition the ends! - Also as a safeguard your hair produces too much oil if you shampoo to frequently.. I get naturally get very oily hair and at first i started using a dry shampoo for my hair instead of washing it everyday. Now i can go 3-4 days without washing, also make sure you have the correct conditioner.. too much protein in a hair product will dry out your hair too much moisture will make it greasy find a balance i have a client using a blonde conditioner (even though she doesnt have blonde hair) every second time this way she alternates protein and moisture every second wash!! :)
If you put too much conditioner in your hair it will get greasy, its like dumping olive oil in your hair to condition it. You should only apply it to the bottom half (like the people up top said lol) because unless you have split ends past your ears or something, you only get split ends at the bottom half of your hair, and even less than that.
you might not be washing it out properly or possibly using to much conditioner? or try conditioning only midlength to ends, try to avoid getting condtioner on your scalp and see if that makes a different, unless your hairs damaged, the roots dont really need conditioning seeing as its all new hair and in good condition
When taking showers, many people use hot water (including me), thinking it will help kill bacteria and germs and what not on our hair and body + it feels amazing. & it's okay to do that, but before you step out of the shower, use cool water for about 5-10 seconds on your hair. It helps lock in moisture while hot water tends to make hair dryer and causes damage and breakage.
I have the same problem with redken all soft. its such a heavy moisturiser that i can not use it with my fine hair. What i recently tried was going to the department store (i went to walmart) and i picked up Dove shampoo and conditioner. I picked up this energizing one (lemon grass and... something) but I figured that would work. First time i used it i used way to much conditioner but second time i applied the conditioner from my ear lobes down. This moisturises the ends but doesn't give that heavy conditioner feel. i only use about a nickel size too but that depends on how much hair you have. Hope this helps !! :)
I had this issue with conditioners for a looooong time, and it took forever to figure out what I could use that would work. I found a light leave in conditioner that is light weight, stops static, and detangles. It's the healthy sexy hair soy tri wheat leave in conditioner. I buy the 16.8oz. bottle from super cuts (its like 15.00) because its the same price as the smaller bottle( at super cuts). The big bottle at ulta is 25.00 eep!
Anyway that worked for me really really well, and also Yes to tomatoes shampoo and conditioner was also amazing, not necessarily because my hair was so full of volume or anything, but it's light weight and rinses out the best hands down to any conditioner I've ever used.
You can skip conditioner and try a leave in conditioner. The Rusk leave in conditioner works extremely well. Also make sure you don't apply conditioner in your roots but rather apply a small amount of the leftovers on top, If that makes sense. lol
:)
I can't stand how disgusting conditioner makes my hair feel. I used to love conditioner back when I dyed my hair all the time but now it makes it too greasy and I can't stand it. What can you do to give your hair a hint of moister while skipping the conditioner?

I second rinsing with cold water. I find when I don't do this my hair doesn't rinse properly and it looks weighed down.

I use TreSemme and I put looooads of conditioner in because I have really long hair and I find that it doesn't make my hair greasy at all.

A little conditioner will go a long way. Moist people don't realize you shouldn't use it on your roots, only your ends. Try that and see if it helps!

Have you tried a 2-in-1 formula? Those work great for me since conditioners make my hair oily/flat as well.

I don't do conditioner but maybe once a week. I find it weighs down my hair and I love my volume =D
You can probably skip it altogether if you use a moisturizing shampoo like Pantene - I like the one for thick, fizzy hair.

I do a coconut mask on my hair for like an hour then wash it with shampoo and skip conditioner bc the coconut did that.

redken all soft and garnier fruictis for dry frizzy hair. I have frizzy hair but both of those conditioners make it way too greasy.

Not all conditioners are the same. What have you been using?
