Hi guys! I have a serious problem here. All of my nail polish become bubbly after applying. A lot become bubbly hours afterwards. I have been asking the fabulous nail bloggers and youtubers to give me tricks to get it perfect, but all of them told me they never had any problems with bubbles.
I know about (almost) all the anti-bubble rules:
Not shaking just rolling the bottle
Do not warm your nails or fan them after applying your polish
Let each coat dry entirely
Use thinner coat to prevent them from not drying entirely
That's kind of everything I know and do. I also let my polishes stand for a few weeks, hoping that the bubbles would go away but they didn't. This is really serious! I have a whole lot of polishes I've never used because of the bubbles, since I hated it so much, after applying I just removed them the same day. Please help me with everything you can!
Also, summer is just over in the country where I live and my room is the warmest in the whole house. Does that have any effect on my polishes? If so how do I fix it? Thanks to everyone who helps me in advance!
Wow this is really strange...so you buy a new polish, open it and then it becomes bubbly right? I wish I had some advice you but you seem to be doing everything right. The weather shouldn't being effecting the polishes that much...but if it is becoming bubbly after you open it sounds like the only thing it could be is something in the air...
If I'm understanding correctly...after you polish your nails, the polish dries with a lot of bubbles on your nails. Been there myself not long ago. At first I thought it was a particular brand of polish, but it ended up happening to any and all polishes I used. I ended up just keeping clear polish on my fingernails for months and just polishing my toe nails (which, by the way, never dried with bubbles in the polish). Since it only happened on my nails and not my toes, I figured it was me and not the polish and started changing the way I applied my polish. I always lightly buffed my nails to make sure it was smooth, then wiped them with polish remover. Used a ridge filling base coat, then polished my nails letting each coat dry before applying the next coat. This seemed to do the trick at the time. Right now I'm not taking the extra steps, but have no issues with bubbles. I'm absolutely dumbfounded as to why it happened at that time and not now. Hope this helps.
It might be the air as well. Some polishes I bought had disposables with really warm lamps.
My topcoat got so bubbly the last month, that I stopped using it. Though my polishes became bubbled before I could even use the topcoat. My basecoat is entirely fine.
Weird thing is, that when applying my polish everything looks fine and alright, and after an hour or so it becomes bubbly all over :(
Hi Topic followers! I tried out many nailpolishes and for some on them the number of bubbles reduced so much! I only buffed my nails and want to use up my basecoat first, so buffing itself helps a lot already! Thanks Maria for the right answer and thanks everyone else for your kindness!!!

Gently blowing warm or hot air on wet nails helps to smooth out the coats and eliminate bubbles, like your breath or, if you wanna get crazy, a blow dryer =P
Also, it may be the your nails produce a lot of oil, which creates pockets underneath the polish. Try swiping your nails with a cotton pad and some polish remover to reallt dry them out before applying polish.
Thank you for your reply! I do use nail polish before applying my basecoat, but I've always known that warmth cause bubbles. It's funny it worked for you :)
Strange I've had the same problem, but it was with my top coat, it did it every single time. So I switches to a new one and I've never had the problem since.
Oh, has anyone heard of the essence better than gel nails topcoat? Honestly I'm a bit confused. Is it supposed to be a regular topcoat that looks like gel, or is it a gel based topcoat?

Perhaps the bubbles are just in your Top or Base coat? Making every polish seem like it has bubbles. It's happened to me before=]

Thank you Malika! I've thrown away my old topcoat but haven't found a new one since.
If you know any good drug store topcoats that are available in europe please share! :)

I know it´s expensive, but the Orly fast drying top coat is the best top coat I know. It´s even better than Seche Vitte. And no bubbles.
