I use to have uneven skin tone around my chin area that looked like puppet lines. I was not happy with that for the longest time. Then I tried out this product by Skin79 called White. There's several products from this line but I got the cream and used it every night before I go to bed this last month and the dark uneven skin tone seems to be gone.
It also suppose to help brighten your complexion, which I noticed everytime I wash my face it seems to be much much brighter than before.

If you scroll down there's the whole White line collection.
There's also skin bleach that would help lighten the dark pigmentation, but some of those contain hydroquinone which I've heard mixed reviews about.
You could also try a tomato lime/lemon mix mask for 10 mins a day/week. I've tried that one month and I loved the results, but I got lazy to keep mixing it.

I've read a lot about skin bleaching the natural way... Maybe I should give it a shot.. Thanks, Sivhouy!
I don't know about curing it, Tash. but I do have the same problem. Before foundation, I use lavender-toned corrector/base to camouflage the dark shadows surrounding my mouth area..
Another trick i've learnt is to apply sheer loose powder with light-reflecting properties. Hope it helps.. :)

Hi,
I am a Licensed Esthetician. The at home remedies will not work. Try a skin brightener with kojic, mulberry, licorice, azelaic acid, glycolic acid, retinol. Hydroquinone can be unsafe to use and can cause futher darkening even after the lightening effect. Wear spf 30 everyday rain or shine. You have to prevent the skin from redarkening so protect it. Wear hats, sunglasses, avoid over exposure to sun.
1) Specific Beauty skin brightening serum $25 target.com
2) Philosophy retinol at ulta/sephora
3) Tazorac (throught prescription around $10 w/insurance)

I have hyperpigmentation on my forehead and cheeks. To diminish the dark spots I use Murad's dark spot corrector. It really works for me but I've heard for other ladies that they haven't had great results. The ingredient that lightens the pigmented areas is called Hydroquinone. I use it for a few weeks at a time and then give it a rest for about a month before applying it again. My very dark spots are now barely visible. You should google it and do some reasearch before you decide to try a product containing it (there are some adverse side effects), but like I said- it really works for me.
If you want to go the natural route I heard potatoes contain something that helps with hyperpigmentation. Maybe a daily mask would help?
Either way- start using sunscreen. Daily. Your skin is only getting darker with each exposure!
