Hello, again!
For those of you who love your BB Creams, does it make you pale? If so, what do you put over it to make you un-ghostly again?

I find mixing it into foundation helps if it's a light BB cream. It's a trick I picked up from someone here on Beautylish. OR I use it as a primer for mineral foundation.

Yep, it makes me pale and I find it makes my skin produce even more oil. Which sucks. I've sworn off BB creams for now - even patting on powder doesn't work. It's just too hard to find the perfect shade, and honestly, with so many popping up in the market right now, I'm not sure if they are really as awesome as they claim to be.

@Vivian - most are silicone products. That's the downside about buying Asian products because most of the ingredients are not in English and unless you can read that language you have no idea what's in it. I found out most Asian BBs creams contain items most American (and other Western) women would cringe to know they're slathering on their face... like placenta.

Yeah I have the etude house bb cream and it kinda makes my face
look more gray-ish...i dont even look pale.
This is why i only wear it for taking pictures. It makes my skin
look perfect :D

@Yasmin, great point. I am gonna follow you because of your always insightful thoughts on things, have been meaning to already but I haven't been on in a few days. I looked up the ingredients in the two I have before buying so I am ok on that part, and they look fab on me in person (I think haha) but on camera it's just too pale.
Welcome Penny!

Actually, BB cream does give me that ghostly appearance only in photos. (due to its high SPF, apparently). I've not tried mixing with foundation, but i love how BB cream worked wonderfully as my under eye concealer, when the rest of my face is wearing foundation.
I can't hate too much on BB creams.. =/

Why don't you check out one by an American cosmetics company like MAC? Then that way you'll know all the ingredients and what it actually does in your skin.

Finally the truth. Lol
I mean, I love my BB cream haven't wore it in a long time cuz of the grayish ghostly appearance to it.
I like the mixing it with foundation. Am trying this tomorrow since am running low on my tinted moisturizer. This might work instead :D

I am going to try it with foundation, as well. I have been using bronzer as powder with it with a little better results. To each their own and all, but I was airbrushing before...and I may just go back. I was hoping to get them to work together, applying the BB Cream for the coverage and skin benefits as a primer and then airbrushing over it. That may work, but I will have to get darker airbrush colors!
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts!

most of the BB creams online and available in america do not have other shades. there are man BB creams i've seen in asia that mimic your skin tone when you put it on (kind of like how smashbox has o-glow, etc that will react based on your skin) and other brands have darker shades or less grey/pink tones. as for the bad things about bb cream i've never considered it better or worse than most foundations.

I just want to report that I have started mixing it with darker foundation with wonderful results! Thanks so much!

Someone just recommended BB cream to me and after seeing this I am definitely not going to get it! I'll just stick with mixing my foundation with my moisturizer! And I agree with Stephanie, I am definitely following Yasmin K. she does have very insightful things to say on these posts! =]

I know Andrew B. mentioned that BB creams having whitening agents in it but that's not entirely accurate. Some BB creams do and some don't. I know my Skin79 mini set had four BB creams and only two of the four had "whitening" on the label. Three of the four had SPF and two of the four had glitter/shimmer in it.
Thank you LeeAnn and Stephanie for the complements. :D

Yasmin, you're right. BB creams were developed to protect and heal the skin after harsh cosmetic treatments or plastic surgery. Some women in Asia just happen to be really pale.
I have the missha BB cream in 27, and it's perfect for my NC30 skin during the winter... No grey cast, and a perfect yellow. Missha give samples and free full sized gifts so you can try other shades depending on the promotion.
I mix with foundation or use a bronzer to even it out if I'm in between seasons. Hope that helps!

Well, I wouldn't really consider my self pale, but more ivory...like I was meant to have white and snow skin. Anyways, I use BB Cream simply because my destiny was to be white forever. However, if I want a little color to brighten up my complexion, I like to use some foundation powder over it cause it also sets it and adds subtle color.

I use Missha's Perfect Cover BB cream in #21 and I honestly love it, being as pale as I am its the closest match i've found to my skin tone and it has great coverage. I just use some foundation powder over it to set and i'm good to go!

Katy,
I love that you love that one, its beautiful. I need shade 23, I am a bit darker, but I have been mixing it with foundation with good results until I need to repurchase!
--Have fun!
