So I have been researching feather hair extensions for the past few weeks and it has become my obsession. HAHA. I have feather earrings and they are "ok". Its time to move to the extensions. I dont want clip-in. I dont really want to pay $45 for one extension. That is what they are charging around where I live. I see that I can buy a cluster of feathers for around $15 or go on Etsy and get them for cheaper. I know that I need to buy the tools as well.
Now my dilemma is that I am worried after spending the money, the extension wont stay in. I am worried that it will slip out. Has anyone tried to put the feather extensions in themselves yet (that dont have experience with putting extensions in)?
I am so excited about this trend. I want to go online TODAY and buy them but I dont want to waste money that I dont have. PLEASE... if anyone knows about this, please fill me in. Thanks!!!

Thanks for all the info Mandy. I will take a look at the links. I dont need any of the tools... well maybe the pliers (but who doesnt have pliers in their house... haha). My friend is lending me her threading tool from when she tried to do her own extensions. So all I really need is the feathers. I am trying to spend as little as possible. I was on Etsy yesterday for 1/2 the day (when I should have been studying) and found a few great people who were selling them. But I will look into ZeeZoes too. Thanks for getting back to me. Our Feather hair extensions, are the latest way to create visually stunning effects,colours, and patterns by using natures high lights.
Each feather hair extension, is made from a collection of between 5-7 feathers , ranging from 7" 14" in length.
Hair can be washed whist wearing your Feather-your-heads feather extensions also: brushed, blow-dried, straightened and even curled (on low heat). They will last anywhere from one to four months, depending on how you care for them.

I ended up purchasing my extensions from Plumeuphoria. She just made a profile on beautlish. http://www.beautylish.com/profile/ycyxj
I chose her extensions b/c she gave the option for the customer to customize their own feather bundle. I loved the fact that I could choose my own colors of the 5 feathers in the 5 in the bundle.

I just ordered from Plumephoria too! Can't wait to get them, I like how it gave the option to choose your own colors and it was pretty cheap. Post some pics when you get them!

@Michelle I am looking for more feathers. But you are not from the US. So I am sure that shipping is more then other companies are charging... plus delivery is going to take longer. I am kinda impatient for these kinda things. haha. Plumeuphoria has great feathers, but I think I want to try a different company this time. I want to give other companies equal opportunities since I am putting it on my blog.

I got my first set feathers from Plumeuphoria (http://www.plumeuphoria.com/index.html), I got the 3 feather bundle for $13.99(with 3 micro links), great price and shipped to me super-fast! The feathers are great quality but I won't be ordering again because the feathers weren't long enough, I can only wear them at my bangs. This is my bad for not looking to see feathers range from 5" to 12". All three of mine were about 6" but I really liked the option to choose your colors!
Then I ordered from Zeezoes (http://www.etsy.com/shop/zeezoes), I got the Pink Feathers 7 for $20 (with one micro link). Even though you don’t get too choose every color you can trust you going to get a great blend of colors! Mine came with a pink grizzly, solid pink, classic grizzly, solid white, burgady, tan and brown. The longest feather was 12” and shortest was 8” and all in between. I plan to purchase again!
Last but not least I ordered extra micro links from Do Hair Extensions (http://www.dohairextensions.com/feather-extensions.html), 10 micro links for $1.99. This seemed to but the cheapest I could find, shipping was fast as well.
Hope this helps anyone else looking for feathers! :)

I ordered from a different company. I have not rcvd them yet. I was browsing the internet last night and came across this website http://luckyfeatherhead.com
They have a feather extension (7 feathers) called perfect peacock. I love the colors. This bunch is a mix of blues, teal, pinks and purples. The shipping was a bit expensive but I could not pass this feather extension up. I know that they have a shop on etsy as well but they were sold out of this bunch of feathers. There shipping is less money if you are willing to wait. I cant wait to get these in my hair. This will be the 4th bundle I have in my hair. I guess you can say I am obsessed. I think this might be the last. HAHA. MAYBE!!!

Haha I am right there with you, obessed! I also just got groupon coupon for $15(normally $30) for 5 feathers at a salon pretty close to my house! But omg those perfect peacock feathers are soooo pretty, ahhh I want!

That is CHEAP!!! I would die for a deal like that around here. I would be getting so many feathers in my hair. I will take a picture once I get my new feathers. I will probably have it on my blog. As a Stylist I put feathers in and let me tell you people are obsessed! All these feathers are a pure rooster saddle feathers that are died. The biggest rooster feather company's inventory is exhausted. Which is why Feather ext, websites sell them for for much. I am going to start retailing them here soon I got my hands on A LOT and am dying them myself!
Try going to your local Fly Fishing Shop ( but chances are they are sold out as well)

@Janelle... there are no fly fishing stores near me. Fly Fishing is not big where I live (Southern New Jersey). I am waiting for my local beauty supply store to get them in. I do get a discount there (just not a huge one). But I am on the list to get called as soon as they get to the store. I just want them for myself. I have 4 bundles in now and its not enough. It has become a serious addiction. haha
