I've had a lot of questions asked of me ... basically, because in the past, I've been pretty vocal and public about problems with my skin ... and working with dermatologists.
One of the most frequent questions?!?
-- "Is it ok for women of color to get microdermabrasion?"
Well ... right now ... I'm enlisting our A-List skin health expert, Viviane Aires (http://vivianeaires.com) to get me beautiful (we're doing a series of microdermabrasion and chemical peels/exfoliations) for all the events I have coming up!
So I want to invite you loves to watch the process at http://youtube.com/kholi12 ... but also ... share your experiences that you've had ... and post any questions (microdermabrasion related or not) that you have for Viviane!
Me too. I go in for my first micro next week, I'll let you know what I find. I heard that microderm is just a prep for your skin to absorb other products afterwards--is that true? If so it sounds like there could be some hidden costs associated with that?
I am a licensed Esthetician and I have received and given microdermabrasions. I personally broke out when I first started getting them because it basically brings all your impurities to the surface. I stopped doing them after a few treatments b/c I hated the breakouts. However, it is normal for breakouts to happen in the beginning for some. Microderms basically gives you a new set of skin. I have done them on a few women of color and they loved it! They definitely saw results from it. However, you have to do a series of them and keep up with it in order to get results.....one or two treatments won't cut it and it can get expensive!
