I've never dyed my brows before. Any good/bad experiences?

I went to a place to dye them when I got my eyebrows threaded. According to someone (their receptionist) who got them done before, it lasts about 6 weeks or so. I really liked the color of her brows when I was paying that day, so I scheduled another thread session and to dye them.

When I went to dye them, the lady mentioned she didn't want my brows to be "too dark" because it wouldn't match my skin tone. She claims I would look weird with very dark eyebrows and pale skin. Then her other workers/friends who saw the process kept saying, "Wow, I see them getting darker already..."

Let me cut to the chase... after it was all said and done, I was like "I don't see a difference." Although the receptionist said it lasts for about 6 weeks (usually it lasts about 4, but hers lasted longer)... I swear the dye only lasted a couple of days. I believe me washing my face twice a day, made the dye that was on my brows, (if any) fade faster.

I assume I dyed my brows because it felt like dye that she put on (she liquidfied a colored powder). I don't think I'll do it again, unless... I can find someone who will do a great job and has done it many times. (This threading place I went too, was only in business for a couple of months). Also, I would like to go very dark! Sure considering w/o makeup my eyebrows are sparse and very thin, but if I put on my makeup and don't color in my brows... my brows look even more lighter... so I wouldn't mind dying my brows a dark dark dark dark brown/black color. It beats having to shade them in each day. Hehehe...

I usually dye my eyebrows every time I dye my hair. If I'm lightening my hair, my stylist will usually lighten my brows a bit as well. Usually, the dye is with the same color that is being used on my hair, applied very carefully, and for a very short period of time. I'm Asian, so obviously, blonde eyebrows would look ridiculous, so usually the dye is applied for a very short period of time in order to very lightly tint or alter my brow hair color to be closer suitable for my hair.

I've done it when dyeing my hair at home as well.. Just dip a q-tip into the hair dye you used and carefully apply to your eyebrows keeping the eye you're applying tightly shut. Do this at the last 5 minutes of your hair color processing time, then use a face wipe or warm, wet towel and carefully remove the dye from your brows.

I used to dye my brows when I dyed my hair as well. I would do it last, apply a little dye to the end of a q-tip. I only left it on for 5 or 6 minutes... any longer and my skin would stain. And it only lasted a few weeks - washing my face 2 or 3 times a day does not make the best colour extender! Now that my brows are filled in from being tattooed, I leave them alone. My hair is pretty dark naturally so my brows are dark. Since I've started highlighting my hair I just add a touch of taupe brow powder and it acceptably softens the colour. xoxo

Mandy- a friend of mine is the same way. She's naturally blonde (like children of the corn blonde), with almost white lashes and very light eyebrows. She fills in her eyebrows daily too because she's had bad experiences with dyeing her brows. I think it's one thing to lighten them or tint on darker brows, but for naturally blonde brows, darkening with dye is a really tricky thing.

Anyway, she swears by Guerlain's Le 2 De Guerlain Mascara to tint her light lashes eyelashes. It's got an almost laquer like coating that goes over lashes and colors them in really dark without any flaking, smudging, ect.. She claims its the only mascara that fully covers all her light lashes (possibly the brush?), so she doesnt have that odd light root/dark tip syndrome.

My hair is super light right now so I had to dye my brows- I toned them too! It was easy enough. A lot of people seem nervous about it so I just went slowly and got the look I wanted in two (very short- five min each) bleaching sessions. When I want a more dramatic look I fill them in but I didn't want them to stand out as much as they did pre-bleach with my light hair.

I get my brows tinted at a salon. You are not supposed to use hair color on your face. My brows are naturally blonde. Come the summer and after I get a little sun... you cant see them at all. I get them tinted a light to medium brown. I love it!!! I dont have to put any powder or pencil in my brows for weeks. I would say on the norm... my tinted brows last about 4 weeks. I then go back, get them tinted and waxed and I am good to go. You can see in my main picture on here my brow color. That is not my real color. I have tried the take home tint kits and they dont last nearly as long as when I get it done at the salon. I actually did a post about it on my blog. I did my mom's brows (b/c she is just as light as me) and it didnt last but the color was great for a few days. Here is the post I did, just in case you were interested in looking into that.
