Hey everyone!
I just got hired at Sephora as a seasonal employee! I am so very excited, and I start on Monday. Have any of you worked there before? Can anyone give me any tips, or advice on working there? I'm a little nervous lol I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks! <3

I currently work there and loooooove it! It's one of the best jobs I've ever had. You'll get used to it really fast. Where do you live? My store is a really big and busy store so holiday season is going to be a mad rush!! It's so much fun and you get tons of free product working for them (what they call Gratis) from all the different brands, it's amazing. ahhh good luck! welcome to the Sephora team!

thanks Kristen! I know I'll love it, just always nervous starting a new job lol. I live in Pittsburgh, the store is pretty big, and already busy =]

Tyisha- I applied about a month ago, I asked if they were looking for seasonal help since I already have another job, so on the app I just put Part Time Seasonal. How long ago did you turn it in? Maybe you can call and say you're just checking up on your app status =]

Congratulations! I recently applied there...well, like 3 weeks ago. I handed my app to an employee because the manager was unavailable, so I went in the next day to speak with a manager to make sure it was received and how I could set up an interview lol. She seemed a little surprised that I stopped by just for that, but I am determined haha. She said that they'd be calling people in November for interviews...I'm awaiting a call. And applying to other Sephoras in my area. Yes, I'm that pressed lol.

I actually got hired at Sephora not too long ago. At our store, those hired for holiday are just working the register (cashwrap area) and gift wrapping. They will not be working the floor and aren't required to go through the whole training process like I have to. They can get the discount, but will not receive gratis(freebies).

Congratulations, Colleen! I am hoping to work there one day too. But not right now since I have a 1 year old baby girl at home. I LOVE makeup but maybe not enough to put my little girl in daycare. LOL. I wish you all the best. Have fun and enjoy this experience I know a lot of girls wish they had!

Did u apply online or in store??

Raisa- Do you know if they ever keep seasonal employees as full time regular employees after the holidays?

and thanks Lisa!! I am very excited and thankful that I finally got hired there. I've applied to so many different sephoras a number of times lol

Colleen, I worked for Sephora for over a year and it was great. I learned SO much about makeup, skincare, fragrance and SO much about the brands! You're going to love it and its like Raisa C said, if you're a good worker they'll keep you. And if you love it, it will show through to the customers and to management.

Hey so this is a bit late to the party here but I just got hired on and I'm curious about the info on here. I'm just going to be working the cash wrap because I'm not comfortable with color yet. Is it true that people at the wrap desk won't get gratis? I'm hoping to move into color in a few months after I'm comfortable (although I'm not sure how long it takes to get promoted there) but I'm excited just to be working for them! Would love any info anyone can share! Thanks :)

Why on earth are people saying they'd diiie to work retail? I worked for Lancome for a while, it was mostly about sales goals and calling to get GWP pre-orders. Although Sephora isn't the same, people do the same gross make-up habits you ahve to deal with: putting their fingers in products, being gross, etc.

Haha, I'd never work cosmetics retail again. Good luck though, it is a great brand and a good starting off point for other things. Cheers!

Congratulations, Colleen! I applied there like 5 weeks ago, but didn't hear anything from them. I walked in to check with them after like 3 weeks, but still nothing. A friend just told me yesterday that retail stores don't really like to see people list down their college education because people with college education are more likely to move on. Maybe that's something I did wrong.

Anyway, I've never worked for a store like Sephora, but what one of the employees told me was it was all about personality. They like people who are enthusiastic and almost bubbly! Okay, maybe you don't need to be bubbly, but yeah. Good luck!

Does anyone know if sephora requires a portfolio of your work or if on your resume you can write you website page?
