There are no tips or tricks to make your hair grow faster. Hair is made up of dead cells and that is determined by your DNA on how fast your cells die. You can make your hair healthier, in the long run, by having a proper diet and if you can't then take a multi-vitamin at least once a day to help balance it.
Your hair cycles and there will be times when it grows faster than others and times when it seems as if it's not growing at all. This is absolutely natural and you can't change it or force it. Just take care of yourself with a health diet and drink plenty of fluids.
You can take care of your scalp though which in turn helps the blood supply nourish the blood supply around the follicles. Keep your scalp clean, massage it while washing your hair and don't over process your hair with bleach or dye or too much heat.
Eating well, things like fish, almonds, dark grean vaggies, will help it be healthier and not break which makes it look longer. Also it may help your hair grow a little faster as your body will have more stuff to make hair out of...but not by much. It's not miracle grow. Wait it out and note that every two weeks or so your hair will seem impossible then it'll grow a little be great, and it starts all over.
Yasmin & Jennifer and both right, while the hair once it has grown out is considered dead (it's simply keratin), the health of the hair really starts before it even grows from your scalp. A good, balanced diet, especially with good proteins & good fats (almonds, cashews, fish oil supplements, etc), will benefit the hair and ensure its health.
Another things is to maintain routine trims. Sometimes people avoid cutting their hair, thinking it will let the hair grow faster. The fact is though that split ends can actually go up the hair strand and cause continuous breakage, which makes it seem like your hair is not growing. If you regularly get trims to take care of the split ends, it will help prevent the breakage going up the hair strand, and you will see a difference in how your hair is then able to maintain its length.
I just take a multi-vitamin, and I wash my hair every other day. oh& when i put conditioner in my hair, i avoid my roots (heard it helps) .. this all seems to be helping me so hopefully it can help you too :)
My hair stylist suggested i take biotin vitamins when i pretty much destroyed my hair due to a bleach mishap. I ended up having to cut most of it off and its been about 3 months and my hair has grown about 4 inches.
