I was checking out prettyandcute.com, which has brands such as Lioele, Tokidoki, China Glaze, Shiseido, and Beauty Diaries. I heard that BB creams are great and also Shiseido skin care items. Those who have tried or are curious, what are your thought's on asian make-up?
Love, love, LOVE Shiseido. My coloring is weird that even MUFE 153 isn't that great of a match for my skintone but Shiseido is. Shame it's so expensive though.
Love China Glaze but it's not an "Asian" line nor is Tokidoki (it's actually by Italian designer Simone Legno).
BTW - you CAN order from Amazon Japan but to set up an account requires you to know Japanese (or cheat and use the Amazon.com register page to figure out how to register on the Japanese site). SOME items can be found on the Amazon.com site if you change the .co.jp to .com but most can't.
I've heard LOTS about BB creams, but they are made for really pale skin shades... I have NC30 skin and have YET to find one in my color range to try... Most of the target market is the pale/fair skinned Korean and Japanese girls... *le sigh*
If you are curious to try Asian cosmetics, try http://www.sasa.com - they even group according to different ethnic brands!
Asian makeup, least the foundation, tends to be the only foundation I can find to match my wonky skin tone.
I have Skin79 BB cream and wasn't impressed by it but there are other BB creams out on the market. I'm going to try one by Dr. Jart that Wing Law recommended on her YT video.
OH, and as far as the actual topic. I've ordered some asian makeup that I love! Dolly Wink by Koji is sooo cute and fun. K-Palette has a 24 hr "tattoo" liquid eyeliner that is the bees knees. You can find a TON of asian makeup products on Ebay quite a bit cheaper than prettyandcute.com.
I buy pretty much ALL of my asian beauty products from babykula_318 on ebay. Here is a link to her store http://stores.ebay.com/vividiamondc... she has TONS of stuff to choose from, and is an excellent ebayer with really fast shipping!
Basically the original BB cream was made in Germany by a doctor for his laser surgery patients to help lessen scaring. It caught on in Korea where it traveled to other parts of Asia (mainly Hong Kong and Japan). It's now catching on in the US thanks to beauties who love Asian products spreading the word.
I have four BB creams from Skin79 and am not crazy about them but then again the sizes I have really doesn't allow for a long test so I won't see results from it. I'm going to try the one from Dr. Jart+ line that Wing recommended since it's available at Amazon.com.
You can order BB cream from three legitimate places (not to say EBay is a bad place but you never know)... Amazon.com, Sasa.com and YesStyle.com. Sasa and YesStyle are based in Hong Kong, if I recall correctly, and with the disaster in Japan I don't know how that will affect shipping. I would recommend ordering from Amazon Japan but again with the nuclear power plant having melted down, the earthquakes and tsunami I would avoid ordering from Amazon Japan since you may not get your order.
As far as BB cream goes, I would recommend Dr. Jart+ Premium as well as the Skin79 (hot pink one) & the Missha ones! There are plenty of reviews on Amazon in case you're wondering what your shade is...Dr. Jart+ & Skin 79 is one shade only but Missha has a couple different ones. Stay away from the Garnier BB cream as well as any brand that just came out with theirs...a lot of people say that the Garnier one makes them break out!
I would recommend checking out YouTube guru Frmheadtotoe's BB cream review - she reviewed about a dozen BB creams! Hope this helps :)
Asian makeup (and skincare) is my pal. I don't use BB cream because I'm not in the mood to play the guessing game with that, hahahaha, but I love the eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip gloss, you name it... I want more. rubyruby76 is a fantastic eBay seller that sells Korean cosmetics for a good job.
I'm a Taiwan junkie and I seriously need to get my hands on some Taiwanese makeup though.
Tokidoki is actually closing up shop according to what a Sephora rep told me...as I bought a few lip glosses from that line for my 13 year old daughter.that were 75% off in store.

If you want authentic "Asian" brands then try:
Shiseido http://www.shiseido.com/
Kose http://www.kose-usa.com/
Laneige http://www.laneige.com.sg/
Fancl http://www.fancl.com/
Oriki http://www.oriki.com
Also check out Amazon Japan for more brands:

tokidoki is not Asian though, it's Italian. lol

Ah, yeah. Tokidoki is a Japanese word and some stuff was made in Japan, but the dude that created the brand is Italian, so.
But despite all that, it's still poop.
