Hey I wanted to write on hear because I have had horrible acne since I was 12. Now I'm 22. I saw a doctor a couple times but they never seem to get my problem fixed. I feel like my skin has broken out in different times of my life for different reasons. First stress then hormones then some more stress then being pregnant and dealing with a huge hormonal change and now from unhealthy eating. I know it is so hard and you feel like why did I get stuck with this kind of skin..
Recently my skin has been under control, here is what I did to start.
I went to acne.org and just read what the guy wrote and some comments
I didn't want to buy his product and be disappointed so I thought about this cleanser and cream I had bought a while back which I really liked because my skin never broke out truly, It just didnt make my scars go away and I did have an occasional pimple, and it came with a trial face cream that was perfect for my oily skin! So anyways I thought I'm going to buy it, aveeno smart essentials detoxifying daily scrub and daily face cream.
Then I went to Walgreens and bought their brand of invisible acne cream ( because it was cheap) and I liked it. I have to warn you though I slather it on day and night and your skin will go through a phase of being totally dry but it seriously goes away!! I was about to give up after a couple days but it got better. I put the benzoyl peroxide on and let it set in and then add my face cream on top.
When I must wear make up I mix aveeno bb cream with the aveeno moisturizer and then I put almay clear complexion concealer where my red spots and pimple are which is baisically all along my jaw line and my chin.
Now I don't know how much the skin care routine has madey face better or if its what I eat weekly now...
I try to always have fresh bluberries ( which I freeze myself) and red or orange or yellow bell peppers and avocados daily. I those three foods are really good for ridding your body of bad toxins we get from eating processed foods.. And I refuse to give up my fast food when I really want it so I try to make my snack really healthy. I also eat frozen peas as a snack. I know frozen blueberries and frozen peas may sound weird but its really yummy they are sweeter in the frozen form. I also cut out soda for the most part, but I was never partial to it anyway I'm 4 cups of coffee morning and ice tea the rest of the day person. So I kept my coffee and make my own ice tea on the weekends as a treat. And I just try to drink water and like v8 splash and cranberry juice or apple juice if I want somethkng with flavor.
This is the longest review I have written. I hope somebody can read it and think its helpful. We are all so different and not one thing is the right and perfect answer. I struggle with that daily and just try to look on the bright side even when I wake up feeling awful.
I've had acne for years and I've found the best product to use is olive oil and its even better to use extra virgin olive oil it does not clog pores and the oil does not make you breakout! Also every week perhaps 2-3 times put lemon on your face for 15 minutes and steam your face with water before doing this. The lemon will kill bacteria and germs also by steaming your face you'll open your pores. Also once a week I do a sugar facial scrub which is just sugar with a few drops of water do not do this when you do your lemon face wash as it will irritate your skin , since I've been doing this I've had no break outs it's been a couple of months now and many people have said I've not broken out and my scars are fading :') also I have been sleeping 10hours a day now which is great.
Just try it for one week or 2 to be a vegan. No milk products, no meat, no chocolate bars and any other kinds of sweets, less bred. Try to eat lots of vegetables and fruits! Think of the Kitava- indianers: Do they have much money for cosmectic produkts? No! Has anybody of them asne problems? Again no! So before you go to the next drugstore please try it out to life a couple of weeks vegan (of course, no gen-products(watch out->soja)) and then tell us how you feel. The books "Peace food" and "Eating Animals" helped me a lot and for me it was the only way to loose acne.
Hi alisa, I know exactly how you feel I've had crap skin since I was 15, I was put on the pill at 16 & it cleared it up a bit but not enough for my liking, I was them refered to a dermatologist who put me on a drug I think it was called roacatane my skin cleared & stayed cleared for around 5 years then flared up again, it cleared when I was pregnant with my daughter but has otherwise given me problems since, I've tried pretty much every cleanser you can think of including 6months of proactiv & nothing worked until I started washing my face morning & night with a plain old dove beauty bar, in the mornings I moisturise with garnier oilfree bb cream & a vitamin c gel at night & my skin has been the clearest its ever been for the last 5months I think I was using too many chemicals on my skin & it was just irritating it even more, I would defo go to your doctor & get it checked out & don't give up you will eventually find sumthing that works, good luckxx
What has been really working for me is the clinique acne solutions system! I use the facial foam and clarifying lotion only, I cut out the mosturizer cuz it made my skin too dry and I have super oily skin. I added like 10 drops of aura cacia's lavender oil to the facial foam and use the new L'Or?al electronic scrubber thing to get the facial foam really cleaning out my skin and its really been helping!
