Suffice to say, I've never at all been to art gallery showing and/or opening before, and well...just last night, my boyfriend surprised me with the fact that we would be going to one come next month -- and added that it would be of course, a definite change of scenery for me; which is true on all accounts, since it'll be much more classy than the norm -- almost formal, black tie event.

I'm 24 years of age, 5'5, and about 110-115lbs. Medium tan, with dark brown eyes and brown, almost black hair. I usually stick to dark colors, like black [which I adore completely] but I am willing to branch out completely.

And makeup tips would be amazing as well! =)

From my experience these things are all about looking effortlessly chic. You want to be dressy but not like you're going to prom. Whenever I need some chic inspiration I check out C Magazine online (I'm in California), but I think good taste and style transcend everywhere. Here's a pic from this months online magazine that I think shows off an appropriate style for a gallery opening. These ladies put some effort in but they don't look too formal. The clothes are fairly casual but you can see that they're wearing slightly bold makeup. They also kind of have a funky vibe which I think fits when it comes to art related events. Good luck!
