Every task we start, I just feel like I can't do it. Even people who have never done hair before are getting it better than me.
I'm trying to keep my passion and drive but I don't even have motivation anymore. Maybe me feeling like a loser is affecting me.
I know its kind of vague but any tips for people having trouble learning. I just feel so creatively stifled.
Thanks.

Just take your doll and play it. You'll understand procedures a lot better when you try it on your own a couple times rather than having someone over your shoulder all the time. And don't stress too much if something doesn't come out exactly how you expected it. Practice as much as you can and things will come naturally after a while. ;)

Thanks, boo. Its so hard for me not to get upset when people get it faster than me. But I took my stuff home so I'm going to practice all the things we did today.

I felt thd same way when I started school and even now I feel like I'm missing pieces, but the feeling of putting yourself down definitely held me back. I just took a step back, broke down all the proceedures and did them slowly and acurately, rememberijg to put aside anything I learned before school, and only go by the book. you will get it! just study and practice and keep your mind open. you might rediscover a passion. mine started with hair cutting and now I honestly don't like it as much as nails and esthetics. you end up learning a lot more about yourself and your passions. ;) trust me it gets easier and before you know it youre having fun. ask the teacher for one on one time maybe?

It's just a hump you've got to get over. When you're getting frustrated just take a step back a breathe. You're in school because you're learning and getting better and ignore all the people that get it in two minutes. You've just got to get through it and you'll come out on top with an even bigger drive and a slew of new skills. :)

Omg I felt the same way! but what helped me was asking for help! try to get as much help as you can and don't think that you can't do it. You'll get better! it takes time. I have girls and women in my class who have been there a lot longer than I have and still do a frizzy blow dry! but they are trying!! and I mean I personally feel like my finger waves suck!! but I'm not going to quit. Just don't!! compare yourself to others because tbat brought ms down but once you find your strengths you will feel great (: if you need to miss a day (this is what I did when I was seriously a sec away from quitting) and relax than go back into it with good sleep a positive attitude and focus, you got this. Just try picking up every technique, the out come is what matters babe therw is never no rigbt way really....maybe on state board where we have to worry about dropping the comb or keeping the comb in our hands and the time left but thats it and once you get the technique and get used to keeping the comb in your hand while I don't know um doing a spiral curl or w.e and ect you'll be fine. You so got this!! (:

This is was me in school! Baby girl the moment you relax and not stress about hittin the mark is when youll see that you were making everything so much harder on your self. TRUST!! relax & fake it till you make it. I wanted to succeed so bad that it made me stuck on stupid & none of the dots were connecting... As soon as I got over it, I hit the honors class. & thats a legit story. :p chin up, and pushh through, RELAX RELAX RELAX!

I'm so late but thanks for the feedback everyone. I forgot I even posted this. I'm finding my way now and I passed both my written and practical state board practices at school twice. :D.
