I recently bought Revlon Colorstay foundation and I really like it in pictures but not in person. It looks a little cakey. I want to like it (especially because I had to buy two shade and I can't return them) but I don't. I was wondering other ways I can apply it. I used the elf powder brush.

I dab it on with a damp makeup sponge.

I add a dot of moisturizer to it and apply with a foundation brush.

Just with a wet beauty blender.

I use my fingers starting at my nose and blending it out. the heat helps thin it out, plus starting at your nose makes sure it doesn't cake up around it. then after each section I smooth it out with my elf powder brush. also use a primer first and make sure you moisturize.

I agree tht it looks like in.pictures but emphasizes pores in person , well my experience with it anyway. I used sephora stipling brush to apply and it still made no difference

Use a primer or start off with very small layers and build it up n let it dry in between.. It happens to me too.

I put a small amount on the back of my hand & stipple it on with a flat top, dual fibre brush. This way I can start out with a natural looking layer and build it up depending on how much coverage I want.

I first apply a primer and spot conceal some areas. Afterwards, with my fingers, I apply small dots of the Revlon Color Stay foundation on my cheeks, chin, and forehead, Finally, I blend it out with my Real Techniques buffing brush, which gives the foundation a very natural and airbrushed look.

First I apply a primer & let it sit on my face for a while. I apply a small amount of foundation to the back of my hand & using my wet beauty blender, I dab it in & apply it all over my face. Or I'll put it on my face with my Real Technique Buffing Brush & blend it in with that. I'll go over that with my beauty blender for a flawless look.
