I'm from the UK and am starting a makeup artist course. I have most of my kit now but really struggling on what foundations and shades to get. I have a cream foundation palette but not confident in using it yet... Any of your tips or ideas would be amazing :) x

I would invest in palettes that have variation in colors. I say experiment with your makeup and watch YouTube videos. also, consult with other makeup artists.

I still have my old kit from college as I never used it when I finished I wouldn't spend too much money on foundation maybe buy 3 shades and you can mix and match for different skin tones. Go for a foundation for all skin types :)

Babe in my kit (I didn't bother with college) I use mayberline dream satin foundation.. Low SPF and decent coverage.. Also all my clients seem to love it and looks great in photos.. Try and experiment with different brands.. I took on an assistant who went to college and the foundation in her kit wasn't great and ended up getting the loreal true match range x

You build as you go,You when I started 20 years ago, when I was a teen and got cash for high school events like prom and ect, I would buy a product also.every time I would have a client and asked what look they were going for I would buy the product to achieve the look and my Kit would build up and get a good brush set.

I love the Coastal Scents Eclipse Concealer Palette. It's really cheap and can be used for so many different things. I use it in pretty much all of my different styles including; old age makeup, female to male transformation, etc.
Also there is an imitation one on eBay for $4.18 and honestly I can hardly tell the difference between the 2 of them.
Here is where I buy mine from:
