It'd be nice if you were wearing any/it was visible in the pictures... Anyone else finding it strange that people post pictures where you can't really see any makeup and ask if they look ok? I love makeup chit chat and helping and giving opinions but there's nothing to bloody give an opinion on! I don't mean this to sound nasty, I just want to actually be able to see your work!

When you actually can see it, most of the time it seems to just be mascara... How much of an opinion can you really have on mascara? Lol

I've thought the same about quite a few posts.
For those of you who do post your makeup looks on the boards... I found some webpages with tips on photographing makeup.

Great post, that's pretty much what I do except I use my phones front camera so I can actually see the picture. I always always go near a window or if its night time (I've noticed a lot of yellowy pictures on here from unnatural lighting, I assume people are experimenting with makeup at night or something) stand on the bed so you're as close to the light as you can be and try different rooms as the lights may be different. For example my bathroom light is a strip light thingy so it's much brighter. And the you can use the auto balance thing once or twice to get it to the right colour. I also do take a LOT of pictures and then go through and delete, then again and again until I'm down to the best ones :)

I always stand in front of my window because tge natural light really shows the true colors of my e/s. front cameras are awesome lol.

I don't think we should be too harsh. There's girls out there that are just starting to get used to wearing make up and applying it. And maybe a bit of tinted moisturiser and mascara is all they're comfortable with and need some reassurance that it looks ok!!

I agree with the lighting problems though :-/ that's just annoying

I understand what your saying Brandi but the lighting in most pics make it hard to see anything. I do not wish to be mean or harsh to anyone :))

Ya that's a huge problem! Its extremely to critique cuz the pic is blurry or too dark or orange.Go into proper lighting.

I agree with everything that Brandi said. When I wear make up its usually just mascara but when I wear more, I always ask a ton of people if it looks okay. Let me mention that my "more" is a pale bronze eyeshadow and blush...so it looks like I don't have anything :p weird lighting is really annoying though. Really we can't see anything at all when you're all orange! :p.

I just don't comment if I can't see anything in the pic due to bad lighting and move on to those that are shown in better light. Makes absolutely no sense to get riled up over something so minor. :(

Hah yeah I agree Shelley. But I think the whole filtering of pictures like on Instagram and such has a lot to do with the weird coloring too. It's one thing to have bad lighting but to have a completely unnatural filter/color attached to the photo just takes over the makeup so there's nothing to critique.

I agree with shelley too I just don't comment when I can't see the makeup or there barely is any.

JAjaja I always think the same thing!! I agree that lighting should be good..sometimes I'm about to post telling them that you can't tell and then you see all these comments saying it looks good,so I end up not putting nEthing cus I don't want to seem mean:p
