Acne Scarring: Is this a dangerous combination of products?

Does anyone know if combining Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector and Garnier Fructis BB cream can detriment acne scarring? I ponder this because there are lightening agents in both products and I'm not sure if this can be harmful. Your thoughts are much appreciated!

I wouldn't say for acne scarring but beware of the ingredient dimethicone, any silicone, silica it doesn't allow skin to breathe and traps oil, bacteria, skin cells causing clogged pores.

I'd use one lightning product at a time, especially if you have a reaction. You will be able to tell which one is bothersome to your skin.

hhmmm... if you have acne scarring try a face scar cream. i recomend trying a like 3 difrent products not all at once or in the same week.cause if you have a reaction to one you might not know wich one it was. but maybe try Avons Acne Mark Treatment. Its always on a great price range and it's always going on sale and if it dosnt work you CAN return it and get your full moneys back :)

Only use one lightening product at a time. The only FDA approved skin lightener is hydroquinone. And shouldn't be used for more than 90 days at a time. So use it for 90 days, get off for 90 days, then you can get back on it. Using that along with a chemical exfoliator has done wonders for my skin! :)

Just thought I'd mention... hydroquinone is only recommended for usage in 90 day intervals because it's pretty bad for you. I use it because I have some serious hyperpigmentation issues but I'm considering giving it up. Do some reading before you try a product like this!

they have regular scar stuff at cvs you can look online for that before you actually go into the store..i agree do research for products you buy i always do even as something as simple as a leave in conditioner. i know to get rid of the redness for blemishes i used hydrocortizone cream and it worked like a charm but i also heard of natural remedies like honey, lemon which is a lightening agent too. good luck ; )

I'd like to disagree with Jena on this one, Demethicone is water soluble. So, it won't clog your pores. For acne scarring, you should try a lemon juice, sugar, and honey scrub. Use it once a week. And moisturize with something without Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones (Like Jena said) and Parabens.

Angela is right, it can also cause DARKENING of the skin when used for prolonged periods of time so keep it down to less then 2 months and be sure to do your research on this ingredient for health reasons.

The Clinique serum increases your sensitivity to the sun.. no experience with the Garnier product, but if you're wearing it out during they day.. load up on the SPF or you'll end up with more damage then you started with.
