I just purchased Shiseido's newer foundation brush and I am in love! It allows you to build coverage and not waste a bunch of product!
Although, I do see the worth in applying w/ your fingers. Bobbi Brown actually recommended this because the fingers are warm.
So...what do you use currently? :-)

I usually either apply my foundation with my fingers or a damp sponge. This way the application is always smooth and natural looking and I don't have to clean any brushes

I use the Real Techniques Stippling brush. Stipple on the foundation then buff in. It leaves you with the most flawless finish; it's pretty amazing.
It's only $10 so it's totally worth it. One of the best brushes I own. http://realtechniques.com/shop-collection/your-finish-perfected/stippling-brush

Depending on my mood and the product - on myself:
1. Clean fingers to apply liquid foundation followed with a damp sponge or damp stippling brush to finish the effect.
2. A damp sponge with liquids. A dry sponge (Beautyblender to be exact) with mineral foundation.
3. A powder puff for mineral foundation.
4. A stippling brush for mineral foundation and sometimes liquid foundation.
Real Techniques is good but it's not the best on the market, it is among drugstore brands though but I prefer Bdellium Tools and even OCC brushes to Real Techniques but both lines are more expensive. Bdelliums are so incredibly soft - way softer than Real Techniques - and my kabuki brush from them is one I hate NOT using. I made a joke a while back after seeing these at IMATS is that I kept going back to the booth when ever I passed by it just to molest their brushes. LOL Their brushes are THAT soft and I had the chance to play with so many brushes that weekend at IMATS and have brushes from Crown/Morphé, OCC and several other brands that were there. Bdellium Tools are by far my favorite soft brushes.

Depends on the foundation. Either clean fingers or a stippling brush (I use a Sigma F80).

I usually use my Sonia Kashuk flat top brush but lately I've been loving the ease of using my beauty blender. That thing blends beautifully!
