I would really love to stop biting my nails before school starts so the first day i can have some really awesome nails! Any simple ways to stop biting them? Thanks in advane
I used to be horrible at biting my nails and what made me stop was having acrylics put on and keeping them on for like 3 months. That really helped me because I didnt want to mess up a 40 dollar manicure and also the acrylics are really strong and it hurts your teeth if you try to bite them. If you dont want to do that you can give yourself a nice manicure and try not to bite them.
I used to bite my nails too ! So one day my family friend noticed and said we should have a bet for 20$ so by the end of 2/3 weeks whoevers nails are the longest get 20$. It really helps if your trying to save up for something especially ! Try making a bet with someone who else bites there nails (: good luck
I have the worst nail biting problem ever, i tried the acrylics for 8 years and i still bite through them :/ It comes within, ive done the nasty tasting nail polishes, the acrylics, the acupuncture ... everything!!!! It came to a point, where you have to love yourself and take care of yourself. Thats when youll stop biting them :/ When you realize its not worth it, and you want your hands to look nice and not be embarassed of them ..... sorry for getting all sentimental... lol but ive been thru it and thats what it comes down to!!! :)
i've bitten my nails basically my entire life. almost in a way like the way someone is addicted to cigarettes and cant stop smoking. any way, i've tried everything to stop, getting my nails done really pretty (kind of helped, but not when they started to chip on their own), got tips which made my nails thicker and harder to bite (helped because if you bite to hard, theyll brake and itll hurt like hell), if neither of these help, you can try buying this nail polish that is specifically for people who bite their nails. what you do is paint all your nails with this clear polish and if you go to bite your nails, it tastes horrible or what really helped me stop was chewing gum. when you chew gum, you're not going to want to bite your nails.. getting your bitten nails stuck in your gum.. EW.
try everything, also take into consideration if you stop biting your nails, you won't be embarrassed of your nails. if you stop, try using a nail strengthener to strengthen your nails so that they're not brittle anymore from biting them all the time.
You can buy those' stop biting nails ' nail polishes there basically nail polish you put on and whenever you go and bite it , it will taste bad so you will stop it worked but they can get pretty pricey for a good only but luckily you can make it yourself! Get a clear nail polish an cut up bits of garlic and put it in there! Then leave it over night and use the polish and when you bite it taste like yucky garlic so you learn not to! Use a cheap nailpolish as you won't be able to take the garlic out aftet
I bit my nails all my life and finally stopped last year, now my natural nails are very long and they're strong as well. For me, pretty manicures didn't stop my biting, the nasty garlic nail polishes didn't stop me either. It seemed to me like I may have had anxiety problems that contributed to constant nail biting because I did stop for a year once before, only to start biting my nails again when personal problems resurfaced.
The competition suggestion above is a good idea; incentives are great ways to motivate yourself to stop. Think about the pretty nail art you could be doing! It all comes down to sheer will power. What ultimately got me to stop was noticing how nail polish looked better on my boyfriend's nails than they did on mine. NOPE COULDN'T LET THAT HAPPEN.
