I have found that foundation is one of the pricier pieces of make that you must buy.
try the Bobbi Brown BBC palette,Grafobian, RCMA,b and h cosmetics. It all depends upon how much you want to spend.
shop around I know Camera Ready Cosmetics site has several prepackaged foundation kits.
I highly recommend Face Atelier. They have a large color range and have adjusters you can add to the colors to customize them to your client's skin tone. They also offer a 40% pro discount and offer super generous "samples" of all of the foundation colors for only $0.60 each.
For small shoots and TFP shoots, I often use a palette from Coastal Scents. Quality for price pretty much can't be beat, and it's really affordable. For more professional shoots, I also carry a Bobbi Brown palette. To be honest, I prefer the Bobbi Brown for color range but with the price tag I can't really justify using it for jobs where I'm not being reimbursed.
I'm really enjoying BenNye Media Pro HD set on shoots and you get so much in there kits of concealer, foundation tones and they now have a new palette for contouring. Great prices also :)
I have Face Atelier Pro that one is really special to me a bit pricey but as mentioned above worth getting samples. Alot of the popular brands mentioned above all do samples so you will have so much choice xo
I am a make up artist for lacome currently, but have been starting to book gigs outside from work. Have plenty of brushes, lip colors, ect.. but need to find an affordable foundation kit for events!
I've been using MAC Face and Body for a while now but I'm thinking about changing to Match Master because I really want to consolidate how much foundation I carry and Match Master seems to be neutral enough to use on everyone but we'll see :) I've also been looking at Face Atelier too!
Face Atelier Ultra Foundation is by far one of the best I've used. I own the entire colour range and never have a problem colour matching someone. I love their smaller, portable PRO bottles because it makes it so much easier to carry. You don't need a lot of product and it covers the entire face. In terms of how it wears in photos, amazing. You can have a look at my portfolio (http://www.julievicencio.com) and all the girls I did make up on, I used Face Atelier.
I've also done makeup for girls who have extremely sensitive skin or severe case of roseca, and it was the first time they used a foundation that did not react to their skin.
At the end of the day is about the clients. Are you working on white girls, black or latina, or asian girls. If you will be working wih more of a wide range then you will need a kit that has more of a diverisity in color choice. Also mature skin need light foundation.
If you wanted to invest in a Temptu Airbrush System I would do that. You can in turn charge more for your services. You only use 6-12 drops of product per face. And a little 1oz bottle will last up to 60 applications. Those cost about $22.00. Hope this helps!!
