I've been having a problem with dry skin on the tops of my arms, shoulders and back for a few years now and no matter what kind of moisturiser I use, it never seems to go away...
I'd been meaning to book an appointment with the doctor when a friend suggested I went into Holland and Barrett and asked if they had any natural remedies for dry skin. The lady in the store recommended Primrose oil, and said to take the capsules daily and also to pierce a few of the capsules and to rub the actual oil onto the effected areas. So I was just curious, has anyone heard of primrose oil as a cure for dry skin before? Will it make it difference? I'm holding off booking an appointment at my GP until I've given this a chance to work but I'd like to know if any of you have had any experience with it in the mean time
I don't know about Primrose Oil, but have you thought of Rosehip? Sukin do an excellent, natural rosehip oil. Check it out here: http://www.sukinorganics.com/Catego...
I think the lady iPrimroseOil Primrose Oil is used for PMS and in some cases in can be beneficial to your skin. It helps acne, redness, inflammation and smooths/moisturizes dry skin. I think you should give it a try!
It'll help if your skin issues are hormonal-- I started taking it 3 months ago when my skin would both breaking out all over and drying on my cheeks a week before period came around. My skin looked really clear and pretty within two weeks. I stopped using it about two weeks ago and it came right back! Idk about putting it right on your skin though, the ones I take smell a little crazy. I wouldn't be able to handle it.
I've never used primrose oil before. I do second rose hip seed oil. Been using it for a year and I love it. It clears my skin, keeps it from over producing oil, moisturizes and fades my dark spots from acne. For dry skin on my hands (I wash my hands a LOT) I use raw shea butter.
