Sure. Why not :) the healing sucks though. Took mine 2+ years to fully heal right.

Don't use a piercing gun you can shatter the cartilage in your ear and once it's shattered it will never "grow" back or heal, my friends mom's ear cartilage is in pieces because she tried to pierce it with a piercing gun. Go to a professional.

I got mine pierced using a piercing gun at claires. It didnt hurt at all and i absolutely love it. As far as healing goes, its been fine. I clean it with solution a few times a day and give it a spin or two and its fine. It was sore for a few hours after i got it done but its fine now. Hope this helps :)

I don't personally have a helix (cartilage) piercing, but I have a rook, daith and conch, which is in the cartilage-y part of your ear. Pain is definitely subjective to each person and the part of the ear (for example, my rook didn't hurt at all, but my daith was awful). If you want one, go for it, but like others said, do NOT go to someone who uses a piercing gun. It's not as sterile and you could possibly shatter the cartilage. Definitely go to somebody who is a licensed and experienced piercer who can do it in a sterile environment.

I got mine pierced with a gun. I agree with LaToya, the heeling sucks. I couldn't sleep on the side of the piercing for a good 2-3 weeks. & a year later it still gets sore at times. Also be careful because I know my hair has the tendency to wrap around it & hurts.

Don't get it pierced with a gun. While some may have luck with it, it is known to shatter your cartilage. Go to a piercing place and get it done by a professional. I was intimidated at first to walk into a tattoo/piercing place but it is completely fine. I'm scared of needles and didn't feel it go through. Pain wasn't bad but the healing does take over a year since it is after all cartilage.

I agree with not getting it done with a gun either. That's why my healing took so long an was sooooo sore and painful over the years. I really debated taking it out but I've had mine for 8 years and it's 100% good. :)

I took mine about two months ago and it's getting better all the time. The only problem is that if you took the jewelry off when you go to sleep, the "hole" might close up.

Their cute ,and I love mine. The only thing is you have to patient and delicate with them. I got mine pierced last July I think and they Finally healed in May ,it's probably still healing .the problem is taking them out at night trying to get them back in ,such a hassle sometimes that's. Why I leave them in. They require a lot of TLC ,I got the gun which made it more likely for trauma for my skin caused bubbles, recommend going to a clean licensed tattoo shop and ask for the needle ,less healing your ear has to do ❤

Uhm. This depends on where you're piercing. I have a conch, tragus, daith and took piercing as well as the general outter ear parts. Practice good hygiene, and don't use alcohol. Use saline. Take care of it, and rock it once it's healed! (;

I have 2 conch piercings in my right ear. Absolutely love the way they look! Getting them pierced didn't hurt too much, although I do have a bunch of tattoos and piercings so my pain threshold is pretty good. It does hurt while they are healing, and I wasn't able to sleep on that side of my face for a couple of months!

Everyone righ it does take forever to heal. I love my indrustrial but can bear to go through it again to get the otherside done. Plus i have a tendency to keloid, Thank god I'm friends with a piercer...

The first time I got mine done I was 18, so about five years ago. I went to Piercing Pagoda and she did an excellent job. It stung for maybe two seconds, but that was about it. I got my second ones done about two years ago, and I love them all! I went to Piercing Pagoda for all of my piercings and wouldn't change them a bit!

Yes!! i just got mine done at Claire's about 8 weeks ago.. I would say the pain was about a 3 for me out of 10. I do however have a really high tolerance for pain, but my healing afterwards has also been great! it has given me zero troubles! For the first couple of weeks i did have to sleep on the other side or create a little pocket for my ear with my arm, but other than that no redness, irration, or swelling! So i say go for it :)

Yes! But depends wear about on the cartridge! I'm 14 and just got my tragus peirced 2 weeks ago. It doesn't hurt at all and hasn't gotten infected ! Just Remeber to spray it with the antiseptic spray twice a day and you should be fine

I went and got my done at an actual piercing and tattoo place. It didnt hurt just a lot of pressure then voila! It is quite sore afterwards. Just dont sleep on that side. But i love mine!

I got mine pierced with a gun, but replaced the stud with a thin barbell after two weeks. It was much more comfortable, and it healed pretty quickly. Just got a fourth hole right in between my earlobe and cartilage. They're healing really slowly and sleeping on them hurts!

I got mine done 7 yrs ago but had to take it out when I worked at A&F and I miss it. I got mine done by a professional at a tattoo parlor who DID NOT pierce it using a gun bc I heard about the cartilage shattering and I had no pain the way they did it just a pinch so I highly recommend going w/o the gun. It took mine a year to heal but it was awesome and I wish I still had it!

If that is what you want. I got mine done a year and a half ago and I love it. It took a few months before I could sleep on that side, but it was well worth it. But don't get it one by a gun. I started getting into piercings since I was 15 and ever since I go to a professional, even though it can be intimidating. In the long run, you will be much happier. The places who provide piercings with guns only get basic training and the gun is reused typically without sterilizing on everybody. The only thing changed is the actual earring that is what pierces your ears. I have never seen them clean any part of the gun no matter when pulling it out of the drawer or putting it back in.
I have had several lobe piercings with a gun and getting my cartilage done with the needle hurt way less. The professionals are typically more skilled on the procedure and will give you any information that you may need to know about how to manage it and healing and the future on that piercing.
I recommend going to a professional, no matter what.

Yess healing isn't fun but mine only took about 4 months but you won't regret it
